Report on FIDUCEO project MVIRI Aerosol demonstration dataset
This document forms the deliverable D5.8 to report on the climate data record (CDR) of aerosol optical thickness (AOT) as retrieved from the MVIRI fundamental climate data record (FCDR) [RD 1, RD 2, RD 3] using the Combined Inversion of Surface and AeRosol (CISAR) Algorithm [RD 4]. The primary objective of this data record is to assess and demonstrate how the recalibrated and uncertainty-quantified MVIRIFCDR can support improved retrieval of geophysical parameters. Of particular interest is the impact of in-flight reconstructed and spectrally degrading spectral response function
FIDUCEO project: (AVHRR): Report on the AVHRR FCDR uncertainty
This document is one of the five documents that make up the D2-2 report on traceability chains for FCDRs. Since the original project proposal our thoughts have refined and while this document describes the “sequence of measurement standards and calibrations that is used to relate a measurement result to a reference” (the VIM definition of a traceability chain), it is not presenting this in the form of a chain. This document provides an overview of the uncertainty analysis for the sensors analysed along with the methods to establish metrological traceability for the developed FCDRs and is specifically about the AVHRRFCDR. Document D2-2a provides an overview of the purposes of these documents and explains the basis of the effects table
NCAS CDAO Sky-Camera Time-Lapse Video for 2007-05-21 03:00 UTC (showing Altocumulus undulatus clouds).
A time-lapse video showing Altocumulus undulatus clouds. The cloud layer initially appears to be of Stratocumulus type, with relatively poorly-defined undulatus elements. However, the layer soon breaks up to give well-defined Altocumulus undulatus. Cirrus clouds and contrails can be seen at a higher level towards the end of the sequence. This video has been created from images taken by the Sky-Camera at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) Capel Dewi Atmospheric Observatory (CDAO) near Aberystwyth, UK - formerly known as the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere (MST) Radar Facility. Report on FIDUCEO project AVHRR aerosol demonstration dataset
This document forms the deliverable D5.8 to report on the climate data record (CDR) over Europe and North Africa of aerosol optical depth (AOD) as retrieved from the AVHRR fundamental climate data record (FCDR) using a simple dark field Algorithm. The primary object of this data record is to assess and demonstrate how the sophisticated uncertainty information contained in the AVHRR easy FCDR dataset be propagated through a retrieval algorith

NCAS CDAO Sky-Camera Time-Lapse Video for 2007-09-04 17:50 UTC (showing Stratocumulus clouds that develop wave-like asperitas features).
A time-lapse video showing Stratocumulus clouds that develop wave-like asperitas features. During the early part of the sequence, there appear to be layers of cloud at two distinct levels. These are lit differently by the setting sun. The asperitas features begin to appear approximately half way through the sequence. Altocumulus undulatus clouds can be seen towards the end. CEDA Annual Report 2018 - 2019
This annual report presents key statistics for the year past (2018 - 2019) as well as a series of snapshots of activity, expressed as short highlights and short reports
FIDUCEO project (HIRS): Report on the HIRS FCDR: Uncertainty
This document is one of the five documents that make up the D2-2 report on “traceability chains for FCDRs”. FIDUCEO project: FCDR/FCDR Writer/Reader software report
This document describes the usage of the FIDUCEO tools for reading and writing CDR and FCDR data files. This set of tools is programmed in Python and has been tested using Python versions 3.5 and 3.6 on Linux and Windows operating systems. The software is available at Github (https://github.com/FIDUCEO/FCDRTools/releases/tag/2_0_1_RELEASE
