What happens to a lowly “Polly wog” when
he “crosses the line” and is transformed
into a “shell back” of the Ancient Order of
the Deep.
We are now in the South Pacific somewhere
Steaming along our destination at present
Unknown but eventually Tokyo.
I am still standing to write these few lines
Since you see what happened to us when we
“crossed the line.”

The taro has roots similar to sweet potato, and is here groing in water, with the big thick green leaves.
This picture was taken on a steep hill which was irrigated - the water about 6-8 inches deep, but always flowing fast.
