The Effect of Cold Compression on the Reduction of Pain Intensity in Patients with Closed Fractures at Kota Langsa Hospital, Indonesia
Fractures or broken bones are one of the musculoskeletal conditions that often result in pain for patients. The pain experienced can affect the healing process and increase morbidity and mortality rates. Cold compression is one of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be given to reduce pain in fracture patients. This study aims to determine the effect of mean reduction on reducing pain intensity in closed fracture patients at Langsa City Hospital. The method used in this study is quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-post-test design. The research sample consisted of 30 closed fracture patients using accidental sampling techniques. The results showed a significant effect of cold compression on reducing pain intensity in closed fracture patients, with a p-value of 0.000, smaller than α=0.05. It is hoped that the results of this study can benefit closed fracture patients in hospitals to use non-pharmacological therapy in reducing pain so that patients are not solely dependent on medication

The research provides a deeper understanding of the importance of monitoring and evaluating the air and water quality in school environments to prevent more severe health issues. In addition to addressing mosquito-related concerns, this article also highlights the significant role of climate change and human activities in exacerbating air and water quality issues in the vicinity of school environments. With climate change affecting rainfall patterns and human activities such as industry, intensive agriculture, and transportation contributing to pollution, attention to the conditions of school environments becomes increasingly crucial. The article emphasizes the need for proactive actions and comprehensive policies involving various stakeholders, such as schools, government entities, environmental organizations, and the community, to address these issues. Furthermore, increased awareness and education regarding maintaining a healthy environment are crucial to implementing effective preventive measures and protection. Effect of Board Attributes on Financial Reporting Quality of Quoted Consumer Goods Companies in Nigeria
This study examines the impact of board composition on the degree of financial reporting quality of consumer goods companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange between 2016 and 2021. Samples of thirteen businesses were selected after using two filters. The study employed an ex post facto methodology, and secondary data were extracted from the population's annual reports and accounts. Regression utilising the Ordinary Least Square Model was used to test the hypotheses. An increase in the number of specialists on the board will help consumer goods companies' financial reporting because it was discovered that board expertise is essential and positively correlated with financial reporting quality. On the other hand, it was discovered that board diversity and independence were unimportant and irrelevant to the accuracy of financial reporting. The study concludes that board attributes, particularly board expertise, influence the quality of financial reporting. Accordingly, listed consumer goods firms should prioritise board expertise by increasing the number of non-executive members on the board who are knowledgeable about accounting, have professional certifications, and have a wealth of work experience to reduce management manipulations and halt fraud in the company
Impact of Virgin Coconut Oil and Carvedilol on Neurobehaviour, Apoptotic and Inflammatory Brain Markers in Doxorubicin Treated Mice
One of the significant side effects of doxorubicin treatment for cancer patients is cognitive impairment, and the mechanisms underlying this impairment must be investigated to treat or prevent it. The current study investigates the impact of virgin coconut oil and carvedilol administration on neurobehaviour brain apoptotic and inflammatory markers in doxorubicin-treated mice. 32 male and 32 female mice were randomly assigned to four groups of 8 animals each, and the treatment lasted for twenty-eight days. Group 1 animals in both the male and female groups were the controls. In comparison, the Group 2 animals in both groups received doxorubicin dosage (3.75mg/kg body weight) intraperitoneally weekly as a single dose on days 5, 12, 19 and 26 to make up for the desired amount (15 mg/kg body weight). Group 3 animals received doxorubicin and were orally treated with virgin coconut oil (5ml/kg body weight) for 28 days. Group 4 animals received doxorubicin and were treated with carvedilol (5 mg/kg body weight) weekly for three days (days 5-7 for four weeks). The histological analysis of the brain tissue was done by staining the tissues with haematoxylin and eosin. The data was analyzed using GraphPad Prism 9.0. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to compare between groups. All results were presented as mean±SEM. Both virgin coconut oil and carvedilol demonstrated ameliorative effects on neurobehaviour and apoptotic and inflammatory brain markers
Designing a Data Warehouse for Collected Data About User Activity in Social Networks Using Elasticsearch
In this paper, a data storage data warehouse is designed to store collected data from social networks. Creating indexes with data and selecting a configuration with the appropriate number of shards and replicas is described – the primary states of the cluster and possibilities of its scaling. The features of working with the non-relational Elasticsearch database are described when working with data on user activity in social network posts. Among social networks, Facebook and Instagram were chosen for analysis. The paper describes the advantages and disadvantages of using such a data store compared to Apache Kafka.Analysed existing data insertion Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and data visualisation tools integrated with Elasticsearch. The study describes the use of the Bulk API to insert many records at once into a database. The designed data warehouse uses Kibana, a data visualisation and analytics tool integrated with the selected database. Also, it is shown the ability to insert and view logs using Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK stack). Tested data ingest by logging into the database using Beats. The obtained results can help implement a system for analysing user activities from social network data based on Elasticsearch as a central component
