This collection comprises images, reports, and site records from an archaeological excavation on the land at Fornham Park, Fornham St. Genevieve, Suffolk. This work was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd. in March and April 2021.The investigations found scattered evidence for activity in this landscape from the Terminal Palaeolithic (c. 11,900-11,200 BP) and Mesolithic periods. Pits and postholes also suggest low-level, perhaps short-lived or seasonal, occupation in the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age (c. 2500-1700 BC).The principal discovery was a Late Bronze Age (c. 1000-800 BC) dispersed settlement represented by five somewhat irregular posthole structures and associated pits containing struck and burnt flint, pottery, animal bones, and other residues of domestic-type activity. The remains exposed likely form part of a wider dispersed settlement along this section of the Lark valley

Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Curborough South, Lichfield, Staffordshire, September-October 2023

This collection comprises images, spreadsheets, and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation of land at Curborough South, Lichfield, Staffordshire. This work was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in September and October 2023. The results of the evaluation confirmed those of the preceding geophysical survey, with features encountered within the trenches closely matching corresponding geophysical anomalies. A set of ditches matching a possible enclosure identified by the geophysical survey was exposed. This putative enclosure may contain within its interior a possible ring gully or other internal curvilinear feature. The relative lack of artefactual material may indicate that any activity within this enclosure would likely have been relatively short-lived, possibly representing relatively short-lived, seasonal occupation on the outskirts of a possible settlement identified through cropmarks immediately to the east of the site
