Digital Archive from a Magnetometer Survey at Wick Solar Farm, Melksham, Wiltshire, March 2024
No full textThis collection comprises raw and minimally processed magnetometry data, a greyscale image of processed magnetometry data and a CAD drawing from a geophysical survey at Wick Solar Farm, Melksham, Wiltshire. Work was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd in March 2024. The survey has located evidence for a ring ditch feature, along with a number of linear ditches that drain into a former watercourse, which also appears to have undergone some modification, extending eastwards as a linear ditch. Other anomalies relate to formerly mapped field boundaries, modern dumping and ground make-up and also a large zone of magnetically variable responses in the south western part of the site that is related to periodic waterlogging

No full textThis collection comprises images and GIS data from archaeological works at the former First and Last public house, Church Street, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. This work was understaken by Cotswold Archaeology in August 2020. Four pits were identified, two of which produced small quantities of medieval pottery and larger amounts of post-medieval ceramic building material. Evidence of modern truncation in the form of levelling and terracing associated with the construction of the former public house and associated car park was identified, with no evidence for any surviving, buried archaeological features or deposits identified

No full textThe collection comprises site images, GIS data, and spreadsheets from an archaeological evaluation at land south of the Mount, Frome, Somerset. The works were carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in June 2024. The evaluation recorded a Late Mesolithic-Early Neolithic pit containing worked flints and domestic hearth waste. Part of a possible prehistoric ring ditch was also recorded. A further ditch, potentially pre-medieval in date, was also present. Three possible post-medieval quarry pits were also recorded

No full textThis collection comprises geophysics data from geophysical survey work at land south of the A5, Attingham, Shropshire and was undertaken by MOLA Northampton in August 2024. This work involved Magnetometer survey with a cart-mounted array of Bartington Grad- 01-1000L fluxgate gradiometers. The survey identified no definite features of archaeological interest, although two possible ditches were detected on the northern and southern edges of the survey area. It did, however, detect a post-medieval field boundary in the west of the survey area and a possible field drain in the east

No full textThis collection consists of site images, a report, and CAD vector drawings from an archaeological evaluation at Telford Way, Bedford, Bedfordshire. Works were carried out by Albion Archaeology in June 2022, with the work aiming to determine the significance of the potential impact of the proposed development on any archaeological remains that might survive within the permitted development area. The trial trenching revealed largely agricultural features, likely to be medieval-modern in origin. The archaeological field evaluation indicates that the Iron Age to Anglo-Saxon settlement previously excavated to the west does not extend into the area and that the proposed development is unlikely to have any impact on heritage assets of archaeological interest

No full textThis collection consists of a vector graphic, GIS and geophysics data from a geophysical survey, comprising detailed magnetometry, by Archaeological Surveys Ltd. Work occurred on land to the north of Cote Road, Aston, Oxfordshire, in October 2023.The results indicate the presence of several positive linear and discrete anomalies indicative of cut features with archaeological potential. Several anomalies indicative of probable extraction pits can also be seen close to the anomalies of archaeological potential, although it is not possible to determine if they are contemporary or related. Linear anomalies caused by former ridge and furrow cultivation were also located

Archaeological remains from the Prehistoric, late Iron Age, early Roman, late medieval, Post-medieval and Modern periods were encountered. Work at Mill Common was carried out between October 2018 and August 2019 and work at Huntingdon Station was carried out between February 2020 and November 2022 by MOLA Headland Infrastructure
