Site Data from a Watching Brief at Cromford Mill, Cromford, Derbyshire, 2023
This archive contains the photographs, site records and plans (CAD data), produced during the watching brief at Cromford Mill, Cromford, Derbyshire, a Grade I Listed Building complex situated within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Archaeological Research Services Ltd were commissioned to undertake an archaeological and architectural watching brief. Work was undertaken between February and October 2023 during groundworks and building modifications to install a turbine pit, associated service trenches and a forebay pit. The features and deposits recorded provide a useful contribution to our knowledge of the construction of the second mill and the operation of its water supply and drainage systems, confirming the results of previous work and adding some new information
Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Woodstock Road, Yarnton, Oxfordshire, 2021
This collection consists of images, spreadsheets and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation by Worcestershire Archaeology. Work occurred across 8 fields at land off Woodstock Road, Yarnton, Oxfordshire, from November to December 2021. The results of the evaluation indicate two main phases of archaeological activity on the site, consisting of a likely prehistoric phase characterised by dispersed charcoal filled pits, thought to be of Iron Age date, and by a later phase of medieval to post-medieval agricultural activity. The results correlate well with those of the geophysical survey in terms of both negative areas and anomalies
Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Coltran Mill, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, October 2024
This collection consists of images, GIS, site record data and a report form an archaeological evaluation by Wessex Archaeology. Work occurred at Coltran Mill, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, in October 2024.The results of this evaluation show that the foundations of the 19th and 20th-century industrial buildings at Coltran Mill survive to a moderate level of preservation. Walls, foundations and floor surfaces have been recorded in five of the six trenches, showing an equal level of survival across the evaluation area. There is no evidence of activity predating the 19th century
Dataset from an Archaeological Evaulation at the Lancaster University Solar Farm, Forrest Hills, Lancaster, February 2023
This collection comprises a dataset from the archaeological evaluation at the site of a proposed solar farm development for Lancaster University in Forrest Hills, Lancaster. This work was undertaken by Oxford Archaeology North in February 2023. The majority of features were identified as probable boundary ditches. Recovered palaeoenvironmental remains showed that there was charcoal from the surrounding area as well as charred hazelnut shells which can be indicative of prehistoric activity. Although the ditches are unlikely to date from this period, it would suggest that earlier deposits had been disturbed by their excavation. Two pits contained evidence of dumped burnt material, likely from a hearth, suggesting nearby activity. Radiocarbon dating of charcoal from multiple features indicates a relatively long period of activity at the site which began in the early Bronze Age and continued into the Iron Age

The survey has recorded numerous magnetic responses that have been interpreted as being of archaeological interest. The locations of two possible enclosures / building platforms have been plotted in the data. Other responses could not be interpreted with confidence, they may be archaeological, related to a reported WWII camp or natural in origin
