AMDIS: Amplitude Dissimilarity Reduced Reference IQA Metric for Neural Radiance Field

    No full text
This paper presents a novel reduced-reference image quality assessment (RR IQA) method from monocular dynamic scene images for neural radiance fields (NeRF). Despite recent advancement in NeRF, evaluating the performance of NeRF models remains challenging due to the difficulty associated with obtaining ground truth viewpoint images for dynamic scenes. Collecting such ground truth images for NeRF model evaluation typically requires capturing the target scene from multiple synchronized cameras, which is labor-intensive. To address this issue, we propose a novel RR IQA metric called amplitude-dissimilarity (AMDIS), which focuses on evaluating NeRF models without requiring ground truth viewpoint images. The key idea behind AMDIS is that the differences between two near-viewpoint images are mainly absorbed in the phase components. Thus, AMDIS evaluates NeRF models by measuring the dissimilarity between the Fourier amplitude components of the training and synthesized images. Because AMDIS only uses the training and synthesized images, the corresponding ground truth viewpoint images are not required for the evaluation. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed AMDIS is strongly correlated with major full-reference IQA methods that directly use ground truth viewpoint images

Polyfunctionality of Sakha (Yakut) Iterative : Participant-Plural and Semantic Extension

    No full text
This study describes various functions of the Sakha (Yakut) iterative suffix and contrasts its typological features with those of equivalent forms in cognate and neighboring languages. The Sakha iterative suffix expresses a plurality of actions and participants. However, this suffix, traditionally regarded as one of the aspectual suffixes, can have various connotations, such as repetitive movement, individuality of the agent, and plurality of places or recipients, depending on the transitivity and lexical meaning of the verb. Therefore, it is inappropriate to regard the Sakha iterative suffix merely as aspectual. This suffix is also characterized by a semantic orientation combining several different events, contrasting the simultaneous and cooperative implication of the reciprocal-cooperative suffix -(i)s. Among Turkic languages, the Sakha iterative is outstanding in its semantic extension and shows a certain degree of commonality with neighboring non-cognate languages

Morphological Specificity and Word Classification in Koryak : Focusing on Two Types of Adverbial Clauses

    No full text
This study examines the morphological distinctions between nominalized and non-nominalized stems that form adverbial clauses in Koryak. It challenges the traditional classification of both types as “nominal forms of verb” and argues for categorizing the former as noun case forms and the latter as nominal verbs of non-finite verbs. The paper emphasizes two crucial principles in word classification: distinguishing between stem and word levels, and prioritizing morphological criteria. The application of these two principles extends beyond the nominalized and non-nominalized types. Several linguistic elements, including property predication n-.. -qin(e)/-qen(a), genitive -kin(e)/-ken(a), possessive/factual predication ɣe-/ɣa-..-lin(e)/ -len(a), and agent/patient noun -lʕ, exhibit a common characteristic. They can attach to both noun and verb stems at the stem level while maintaining a nominal nature at the word level. Whether this indicates a blurred boundary between nouns and verbs in Koryak requires further investigation. Nevertheless, the paper suggests exploring a word classification method based on these previously understudied morphological features

    上代日本語の「客」とアイヌ語の借用形 : marapitəとmarattoの歴史について

    No full text
これは複合語前部要素としては新しい形式のmareを使い、さらにuto/udoをbito(pitoのpを語中において有声音化)に復活させた形式である。この形式の出現には、語源のpitoから大きく変形してしまったuto/udoが意味と形式の関連において不透明であるという背景が考えられる。一方、アイヌ語の辞典ではmarattoが「まらひと」の借用形とされるが、maraptoという形式も記録されており、借用当初は*marapitoという形式であったことが推察される。日本古典文学における年代から推定して、この形式が借用された年代は9世紀を下らないだろう
