The utility of dynamic forest structure from GEDI lidar fusion in tropical mammal species distribution models
Some of the data used here came from long-term research in Sabah supported by the Southeast Asian Rainforest Research Partnership, the Sabah Forestry Department, Sabah Parks, Sabah Wildlife Department, Yayasan Sabah, and the United Nations Development Programme. We are grateful to the many field assistants and collaborators who helped with the data collection, particularly S.W. Teoh. Additional data used in this analysis come from more than a decade-long camera-trapping study of clouded leopards and associated biodiversity. We gratefully acknowledge the hard work of the WildCRU field assistants who helped us in each study area, and the various authorities that approved WildCRU\u2019s work. In particular, we thank the past and present leaders of WildCRU field teams, and our collaborators on the Sunda Islands: Dr Matt Linkie (WCS Indonesia), Dr. Ewan Macdonald (Worcester College, University of Oxford), Ms Jo Ross (WildCRU), Mr Gilmoore Bolongon. The acknowledgements for data contributed by the Ecological Cascades Lab and in-country collaborators are listed in and . The Advanced Research Computing team at Northern Arizona University provided high performance computing support. Google Earth Engine has been an invaluable tool for our work. In addition to providing a consolidated public data catalog and free computing resources, we benefited from additional storage, as well as training and networking at Geo For Good Summits. The NASA GEDI Science Team provided helpful guidance regarding GEDI data processing.Peer reviewe
