"From the Chimney to the Chamber" : Recovering a Jacobean Satirical Print
I would like to thank Kate Anderson, Jemma Field, and Catriona Murray, as editors of this special issue of British Art Studies, for all their hard work in proposing, arranging, and bringing this publication to fruition. The contributors’ workshop held in the summer of 2024, and supported by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, was a fantastic opportunity to make connections, share ideas, and offer feedback on article proposals. The subsequent comments of the two anonymous readers have proved invaluable in further shaping this article’s argument and direction. I’m also grateful to Baillie Card for her patience, and to Maria Hayward for her guidance on some particular details of Jacobean elite costume, not least for introducing me to the pickadil.Peer reviewe

The Early Upper Palaeolithic in British caves : problems and potential
Open access via the Wiley agreement Thanks are due to several colleagues for comments on an earlier draft of this article, and to two anonymous reviewers and the editors for their constructive feedback. Jesse Davies provided help with the figures. Although in its early stages, a great many people are already owed thanks for their help with the Wogan Cavern project. Four in particular deserve special recognition. John Boulton flagged up the site as potentially promising, and he, Jenni French, and Jay Mogg have been the core fieldwork team since the start of the 2021 season. The fourth person is Chris Stringer, who, very early on, recognized what the site was and had the promise to be, and who has been hugely supportive since. Of course, none of these people, nor anyone else involved with the project, necessarily agrees with the speculations given above.Peer reviewe
