This annual report also contains reports from the Director, Physician and Surgeon-in-Chief, the Ladies\u27 Aid Society, the roentgenologist, the anesthetist, and the fourth report of the Social Service Department of St. Luke\u27s Hospital. The thirty-fourth annual report of the St. Luke\u27s Hospital Training School for Nurses is also included, along with items such as the school\u27s regulations, application for entrance, copy of diploma, and a listing of the graduating class of 1919. Memorial notes for Alexander C. Graham, a former member of the Board of Trustees, is also included. Donations made to the hospital are listed as well

No full textFour sepia photographs of the first class of student nurses in St. Luke\u27s Hospital Training School for Nurses, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dr. William Estes, director of the hospital, appointed Miss M. J. Merritt from Bellevue Hospital in New York City as the first principal of St. Luke\u27s Hospital Training School for Nurses. This school for nurses was the fourth school established in the United States. Bellevue was the first such school. In the 1870s St. Luke\u27s Hospital was the only hospital between Philadelphia and New York equipped to treat industrial and railroad accident emergencies. Ten years later the hospital increased it services to include general treatment of both male and female patients necessitating the need for more nurses

Get PDFMembers of St. Luke\u27s celebrated the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the congregation on Reformation Day , October 27, 2002. Following the Festival Service of Celebration in the sanctuary, a picnic was held on the church grounds. A brochure containing highlights of the congregation\u27s 90 year history were distributed at a Memory Lane exhibit containing a display of historic photographs and memorabilia. Families enjoyed picnic fare, entertainment, volleyball. A bounce house plus many games and craft activities were planned for the children
