Geopolitics and Tourism in Poland
The author investigates influence of political changes in Poland and Central Europe on tourism development. The text is written in a form of essay, what permits to jump from descriptive to synthetic forms of analysis. She uses of many examples of social behaviours of Poles trying to omit restrictions of traveling abroad, and many other cases showing the core of a great need for new self-identity in a newly integrated Europe. With the development of international criminal law, including protection against the most severe crimes, came an interest in the life and activity of the man who was the creator of the notion of “genocide” and the main author of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of December 9, 1948. Magnetotellurics (MT) and Gravity Study of a Possible Active Fault in Southern Garut, West Java, Indonesia
In recent years, dozen low-intensity earthquakes occurred in southern Garut, West Java Indonesia; two of them were reported destructive. However, those shallow earthquake clusters are hardly associated with well-known active faults in the area. Hence, we conducted 3D gravity combined with 2D magnetotellurics (MT) inversions to study the subsurface. Gravity and MT modeling confirm a basin with around 5 km depth consisting of two subbasins separated by a NE-SW trending local-high ridge. The local high coincides with the magmatic intrusion in geothermal fields and aligns with a series of volcanic bodies’ lineament observed on the surface. We interpret this structural high as a preexisting fault that serves as a magma pathway in the tectonomagmatic interaction. Shallow low-magnitude seismicity in the southern Garut area tends to occur in the resistive bodies. We interpret that heat from the cooling magmatic intrusion may decrease the effective fault-normal stress of the rocks, leading to a decrease in fault failure resistance and may initiate rupture. The resistivity structure around the initial rupture may affect whether or not the nucleation will end up as a large-magnitude earthquake. Furthermore, the unconsolidated young volcanic cover in this area could amplify ground shaking when earthquake occurs that might lead to more extensive damage
Music Without Borders? Henryk Wars’ Music Activity During the War and After
Do podstawowych predyspozycji kompozytora filmowego należy umiejętność dostosowywania się do zmiennych wymagań. Różnorodność wyzwań, jakim w swej długiej i transnarodowej karierze musiał stawiać czoło Henryk Wars, była jednak wyjątkowa. Przed wojną Wars był jedną z czołowych postaci polskiego show-biznesu i tytanem rodzimej muzyki filmowej. Po wybuchu wojny skomponował muzykę do dwóch radzieckich filmów fabularnych, w tym antypolskiego Marzenia Michaiła Romma. Następnie wraz z armią generała Andersa trafił przez Bliski Wschód do Włoch, gdzie współpracował m.in. przy filmie patriotycznym Wielka droga Michała Waszyńskiego. Wreszcie wyjechał do Stanów Zjednoczonych, by po kilku latach doczekać się pierwszych poważniejszych zleceń, a z czasem osiągnąć pewien sukces jako twórca muzyki do westernów, kryminałów, filmów familijnych i seriali telewizyjnych. Na przykładach z radzieckiego i amerykańskiego okresu twórczości Warsa autorka rozważa wpływ wywierany na komponowanie dla filmu przez konteksty wobec muzyki zewnętrzne – politykę i ideologię, formuły gatunkowe i dominującą w danym czasie oraz miejscu praktykę filmową.A film music composer must be able to adapt to changing conditions and requirements. However, the variety of challenges faced in his long, transnational career by Henryk Wars was exceptional. Before the war Wars was one of the leading figures of Polish show business and a major film music composer. Following the outbreak of the war he composed music for two Soviet feature films, including the anti-Polish Dream by Mikhail Romm. Then together with the army of General Anders he travelled through the Middle East to Italy, where he worked on the patriotic Great Road (La Grande Strada by Michał Wyszyński). Finally he moved to the United States, where, after a number of years, he began to receive first serious commissions, and with time achieved a level of success as a film music composer for westerns, crime and family movies and TV series. Using the examples from the Soviet and American period of Wars’ work, the author considers how surrounding external context and factors of politics, ideology, genre formulas and dominating film practice influence the process of composing film music
PENGARUH STIMULUS PEMASARAN TERHADAP CITRA MEREK PADA NOTEBOOK HEWLETT PACKARD: Survei kepada para pengunjung HP Store di Bandung Elektronik Centre, Kota Bandung
Perkembangan komputer jinjing pada dasa warsa akhir ini menunjukkan perkembangan yang pesat di dunia IT, sehingga tidak mengherankan jika persaingan dalam usaha personal computer ini berlangsung sangat cepat dan harga yang ditawarkanpun semakin kompetitif. Hal ini tidak hanya pada bentuk, warna, spesifikasi namun juga pada merek. Oleh karena itu agar tetap mampu bersaing perlu melakukan strategi stimulus pemasar agar dapat menarik perhatian dan menstimuli konsumen sehingga dapat mempengaruhi konsumen terhadap citra merek.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran dimensi stimulus pemasaran pengunjung Hp Store di BEC Bandung, mengetahui gambaran citra merek pengunjung Hp Store di BEC Bandung, mengetahui temuan mengenai seberapa besar pengaruh stimulus pemasaran terhadap citra merek pada pengunjung Hp Store di BEC Bandung. Objek/unit analisis Notebook Hewlett Packard. Variabel bebas (X) pada penelitian ini adalah stimulus pemasaran dan variabel terikat (Y) pada penelitian ini adalah citra merek. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, verifikatif, dan metode yang digunakan explanatory survey dengan teknik yang digunakan systematic random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 pengunjung. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah path analysis dengan alat bantu software komputer SPSS 21.0. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian menyatakan bahwa dimensi stimulus pemasaran berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap citra merek pada pengunjung Hp Store di BEC Bandung, sebesar 83,5%. Sedangkan pengaruh secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa dimensi format memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar dengan nilai 26,9% dibandingkan pengaruh dimensi lainnya seperti posisi, format, kontras/ekspektasi, ketertarikan, dan kuantitas informasi
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian malalui analisis jalur terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari dimensi stimulus pemasaran terhadap citra merek pengunjung Hp Store di BEC Bandung, yaitu 1) posisi, 2) format, 3) kontras/ekspektasi, 4) ketertarikan, dan 5) kuantitas informasi. Pengaruh kedelepan dari variabel ini memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan baik secara simultan maupun secara parsial.
Penulis merekomendasikan agar perusahaan membuat produk dengan stimulus pemasaran secara lebih menarik, sehingga citra merek menjadi lebih bagus. ---------- A Development of portable computers at the end of this decade showed growth rapidly in the world of Science Technolog , so it is not surprising that competition in the personal computer business is going very fast and the price to offer even more competitive. It is not just the shape, color, specifications but also on the brand. Therefore, in order to remain competitive the marketers need to make a stimulus strategies in order to attract attention and stimulate consumers so they can influence consumers to the brand image.
This Study is aimed to know description of marketing stimuli dimension to HP Store visitors in BEC Bandung, description of brand image dimension to HP Store visitor in BEC Bandung, and to finding how much marketing stimuli influenced on brand image to HP Store visitors in BEC Bandung. The object/unit analysis in this study is Notebook Hewlett Packard. The independent variable (X) in this studi is marketing stimuli and dependent variable (Y) in this study is brand image. This study type is descriptive, verifikatife, and the method are explanatory survey with a technique systematic random sampling, and total sample of 74 visitors. Data analysis technique used are path analysis with computer software tool SPSS 21.0. The result in this study are obtained that marketing stimuli dimension simultaneously influenced on brand image to Hp Store visitor in BEC Bandung 83,5%. While the partially influence shows that the dimensions of format has a greater influence with 26,9% than the influence of other dimensions such as position, format, contrast/expectations, interests, and quantity of information.
Based in study result on through path analysis therefore significantly influenced from marketing stimuli on brand image to Hp Store visitors in BEC Bandung, which is 1) position, 2) format, 3) contrast/expectations, 4) interests, dan 5) quantity of information. The influenced from variable two have a significant influence either simultaneously or partially.
