Tra mantenimento e slittamento linguistico: il caso del friulano di Avellaneda
No full textThe article focuses on the community of Avellaneda in Argentina, which is mainly constituted
by descendants of Friulian immigrants, who arrived between the last decade of
the 19th century and the first decade of the 20th. Through the results of a sociolinguistic
survey held among the members of the local Fogolâr, on the one hand we will evaluate
the survival of Friulian language in absolute terms and in relation to the sociolinguistic
characteristics of the speakers and the community. On the other, the progressive retreat
of this code in relation to the domains will be observed, trying to evaluate those in which
the linguistic substitution has proceeded less quickly. Finally, by analysing a linguistic
text provided by a Friulian speaker, some linguistic phenomena in his idiolect will be
noticed, differentiating the conservative ones from those due to the prolonged contact
with Spanish
