No full textCe livre est le premier consacré au poète et romancier brestois Frédéric Plessis (1851-1942). Lié au mouvement du Parnasse, ami proche d'Anatole France, qui l'a pris pour modèle de son Lucien Bergeret, Frédéric Plessis est l'auteur de quatre recueils de vers et de huit romans. Cet humaniste, professeur de poésie latine à la Sorbonne, a été le maître du romancier finistérien Auguste Dupouy ; il a exercé un rôle de liaison important entre les écrivains bretons et les milieux littéraires parisiens, ainsi qu'entre la génération des Parnassiens et celle des poètes néo-classiques de la fin du xixe siècle et du début du xxe siècle. Les onze études réunies dans ce volume font découvrir la vie et l'œuvre de cet écrivain, en s'appuyant sur des correspondances inédites et sur le fonds Frédéric Plessis de la bibliothèque municipale de Brest récemment mis à la disposition du public. Elles sont accompagnées de textes inédits de Plessis sur le Parnasse et de sa correspondance avec José-Maria de Heredia. Un cahier iconographique de seize pages complète l'ouvrage

The purpose of this research was to establish a working protocol and a performance baseline for δ18O determination on tree-ring α-cellulose at the Centre for Isotope Research (CIO) of the University of Groningen, and to investigate the efficacy of on hand reference materials to correct cellulose δ18O values and accurately calibrate cellulose QC standards including IAEA-C3. To achieve this, a variety of tree ring samples, along with QC standards and certified references were selected and analysed for δ18O via continuous flow Pyrolysis-IRMS in order to determine precision, accuracy and repeatability

of Michael du Plessis at the University of Pretoria.The aim of any mine design is to ensure that the excavations remain stable
for the period they will be in use. Various pillar systems are used to ensure
that underground stopes remain stable and that mining activities do not
affect the surface infrastructure through either surface subsidence or
seismicity.
Intermediate-depth platinum mines make use of in-stope pillars
designed to fail while the pillars are being cut at the mining face. The pillar
stress exceeds the loading capacity and the pillars crush as a result.
The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of in-stope crush
pillars. This will include the application, behaviour, function, mechanism,
