Sea-surface conditions estimated from dinocyst assemblages in sediment core AMD0509-20
The summer sea-surface temperature and salinity, the seasonal duration of sea-ice cover, and the mean annual productivity were estimated based on the modern analogue technique applied to dinocyst data. The most probable estimates (weighted average of values from the 5 best analogues) are given in the table. The data are reported vs depth and vs ages calibrated based on Marine20
Palynological data from core AMD0509-20 in eastern Hudson Bay over the past 3000 years
The data set contains palynological data and sea-surface reconstruction data from 65 samples in a sedimentary sequence of the eastern Hudson Bay that covers the last 3000 years. The data are presented vs depth and calibrated ages BP. The palynological data set includes time series of the concentrations of the main palynomorph types, the percentage of taxa in dinocyst assemblages, the percentage of pollen and spore types in the pollen assemblages. The sea-surface estimates from the dinocyst data using the modern analogue techniques include time series of sea-surface temperature and salinity in summer, seasonal extent of sea-ice cover and primary productivity
Concentrations of palynomorphs in sediment core AMD0509-20
The concentration of palynomorphs was estimated from the marker-grain methods and reported in specimens per cubic centimetre of wet sediment. The palynomorphs include marine microfossils (dinocysts, organic linings of foraminifers and remains of ciliates), freshwater microfossils (Pediastrum), pollen and spores from land vegetation, in addition to reworked palynomorphs. The data are reported vs depth and vs ages calibrated based on Marine20
Palynomorph and dinoflagellate cyst assemblage counts at OPD Site 145-887 from 5.3 to 0.4 Ma
This dataset contains raw palynomorphs counts at ODP Holes 887A and 887C, including dinocyst assemblage, as well counts of others palynomorphs such as acritarchs, pollen grains and tasmanites. Precise depths and estimated age are also provided for each sample
Percentage of pollen and spore taxa in sediment core AMD0509-20
The percentage of pollen and spore taxa was calculated based on the sum of pollen grains exclusively. The data are reported vs depth and vs ages calibrated based on Marine20
Percentage of dinocyst taxa in sediment core AMD0509-20
The percentage of each dinocyst taxa was calculated based on the sum of all dinocysts counted. The data are reported vs depth and vs ages calibrated based on Marine20
Mixed layer depth reconstructions based on dinocyst assemblage data of sediment core MD99-2227
Winter mixed layer depth (MLD) was reconstructed from the dinocyst assemblage data of sediment core MD99-2227 using two different approaches: modern analogue technique (MAT) and weighted averaging partial least square (WAPLS) regression and calibration. The n = 1968 modern dinocyst database and the modern MLD climatology of 1981-2010 from the World Ocean Atlas 2018 were used as calibration dataset
