Undersøgelsen konkluderer, at de borgere, som har haft indflydelse på, hvordan borgerne har fået den kommunikative magt, har brugt deres kommunikative rationalitet i deres handlinger i konflikten og dermed fremstår som en modmagt til kommunen.24th of marts 2021 a plan proposal from Vallensbæk Municipality, regarding the construction of se- nior housing on a smaller natural area called Vandgrunden, was changed due to resistance from a local group of citizens. The purpose of this study is to investigate the reasons for the resistance and uprising from the citi- zens, and how they were able to change the municipality’s plan for the area. Using a modern human geographical perspective of the concept of place a variety of research and fieldwork has resulted in an urban analysis, showing the unique characteristics and qualities of the place, to understand the citizen's reasons for their uprising. Furthermore, a document analysis has been made to explore the citizen's vote on the plan proposal. The investigation results in an analysis discussing the place and the counter-power of the citizens, in relation to communicative planning and including a right to the city perspective. The study concludes that the citizens, who have had an influence on how the citizens have gained the communicative power, have used their communicative rationality in their actions in the conflict and thus appear as a counter-power to the municipality

Democratic involvement of citizens in Klimatilpasning Kokkedal Abstract Democratic involvement of citizens is examined on the basis of Klimatilpasning Kokkedal. The climate project was started in 2011 as a result of flooding caused by cloudbursts in 2007 and 2010. In this project it is questioned to which extent the citizens in Kokkedal has had influence on the climate project and which added social value the involvement of citizens is able to create in a local community. To answer this it will be sought to account for what defines Kokkedal as a town and what the climate adaption implies along with which visions and considerations has been made in the city planning. The conditions that Fredensborg municipality has had, regarding involvement of citizens in Kokkedal and which consequences the involvement has had for the development of the community, will be analysed. Also, it will be discussed whether involvement of citizens is possible in modern urban renewal and climate adaption. This will be sought answered with, Robert Putnam’s theory regarding social capital, John Andersen’s theory regarding empowerment and power structures, empirical data in the form of interviews with the leader of and an employee on the project, and material from the involvement of citizens process and documents from Klimatilpasning Kokkedal. It can be concluded that a tendency, explained as New Public Management, has shown that residents should be seen as users of society’s offers, rather than citizens in a society. The involvement of citizens can help in interacting between technical possibilities and local terms. This means that the municipality, citizens and resident associations, together need to develop the town and create new social solutions in climate adaption. Prior to this, there has to be a strong network between the residents. Kokkedal however lacks this. To define, the extent of the involvement of citizens in Kokkedal is not entirely possible but the municipality can use involvement of citizens to set the foundation to gather the town. However, it is not guaranteed that the citizens will take the initiative to do so. The municipality does pass on information about the project through associations, but these are not necessarily visible enough to the public. Experience from this project can be brought on to other projects alike that uses involvement of citizens as a resource.Democratic involvement of citizens in Klimatilpasning Kokkedal Abstract Democratic involvement of citizens is examined on the basis of Klimatilpasning Kokkedal. This thesis investigates the influence of soundscapes on behavior and spatial perception in school environments, focusing on shared areas in two selected schools in Copenhagen: Skolen i Sydhavnen and Sluseholmen Skole. Historically, sound has played a significant role in shaping human experience of space, yet architectural practice has often emphasized visual aesthetics over auditory design. Employing an ethnographic approach inspired by sensory studies, this thesis explores how auditory experiences in schools impact students' interactions and well-being. This thesis draws on R. Murray Schafer’s concept of soundscapes, Barry Blesser and Linda-Ruth Salter’s notion of aural architecture, Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology of the body, Steen Eiler Rasmussen’s insights on the physical properties of architecture, and Kirsten Simonsen’s perspective on the embodied and narrative city. This study highlights the sensory dimensions of architectural experience, advocating for a holistic evaluation approach that transcends mere decibel measures. Fieldwork, including observations, interviews, and sound recordings, reveals patterns in behaviors and social interactions influenced by soundscape. The findings emphasize the potential for soundscapes to serve as a critical design element, offering insights relevant to architects, planners, and educators on creating spaces that support both interaction and concentration. This thesis ultimately calls for an expanded architectural vocabulary that better articulates the sensory impacts of sound in educational environments

The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the factors that come together to push the technology that develops prosthetic limbs. We will examine, on a broad scale, both the ethical and subjective stances, taken on technological development of prosthetics. We will also assess prosthetics, from the earliest, until today's, examining their practical, social and personal ramifications. Finally we will seek to illustrate and bridge the problem of developing a prosthetic limb that is both functional and capable of being distributed to as many as possible. The purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the factors that come together to push the technology that develops prosthetic limbs. This Paper examines Odense Light rail (LR) and the effects that it has on a selected interview group, representing ‘young’ users of the LR. The vision of the LR is to make it accessible to all citizens. Odense Municipality has specifically focused on promoting urban development for children and young people, arguing that a city for this target group is a “city for all”. This paper investigates the LR as a technology and its unintended side effects. The intended effects of the LR include creating a CO2-neutral collective vehicle that ensures stability and safety. However, there are three primary unintended effects. First, safety concerns arise due to several collisions and near misses with other road users. Second, electricity as power source has caused delays and cancellations due to technical issues. Lastly, the noise level generated by the LR negatively affects both users of the system and people nearby. The report examines how a selected group of young LR users experiences using the LR. The concept of the LR as a “form of life” is defined based on the interviewees’ collaboration and understanding of the technology. This process includes accepting the LR, including its location, time intervals and schedule. Additionally, the interviewees can be related to the concept of “technological somnambulism,” exploring the ability and willingness of individuals to reflect on and critically assess the meaning of a new technology. Furthermore, the report discusses how qualitative and quantitative data can be compared. A post-phenomenological perspective is employed to clarify how investigations of the world could be approached both qualitatively and quantitatively. In this context, this means that one type of data does not exclude the other. However, there is a distinction between how the world is experienced and how it is objectively measured or appears. Finally, the report concludes based on the interviewees’ statements regarding the advantages and disadvantages of using the LR. The positive aspects include convenient departures in relation to educational institutions and activities in the city center. However, there are also drawbacks, especially during nighttime when the LR is not operational. For some, it feels unsafe to walk or cycle home during these hours. Noise from the light rail is perceived as an irritation by some, but it does not significantly affect their use of the system. This study provides insights into the intersection of technology and society, demonstrating how individual experiences can be understood. Despite being a pilot study, it contributes to knowledge about technology and consumer experiences
