No full textIn the 1990s, the second and third series of the journal activated with this column the resumption in a structured way of the reasoning on the centrality of Sicily within the Mediterranean basin, to probe its historical multicultural vocation also in the architectural field. The investigation, which began in the didactic field with design courses by Culotta, Panzarella, Sarro, Giorgianni and with degree theses on the theme of the Western Mosque in Palermo and Mazara del Vallo, will continue later in a more extensive form with the design workshops on residences for immigrants in the historic center of Palermo, the results of which are documented in the text by Culotta and Sciascia, “L'architettura per la città interetnica (Palermo, 2005)”
