    Abstract: As the backbone of the metro transport system in large cities, the passenger flow is huge, such as the Shanghai Metro, Beijing Metro daily average passenger flow in more than ten million people. Gate as a human-machine system equipment in and out of the station, switching gate frequency is high, especially during the peak period of passenger flow, the gate's operation pressure is greater, for the rapid passage of passenger flow has a certain pressure. Through the reverse thinking, it is proposed that the default state of the gate is open, and the corresponding passage signal is projected through the projection lamp to indicate whether the passengers can pass or not. By making this optimisation method into a practical demonstration model to prove the practical operability of the idea and test the ideal effect to a certain extent. This can greatly improve the passage efficiency and passenger experience, reduce the wear and tear of the equipment, prolong the life of the equipment, and at the same time, reduce energy consumption.     A Lagrange-Newton algorithm for sparse nonlinear programming

    The sparse nonlinear programming (SNP) problem has wide applications in signal and image processing, machine learning and finance, etc. However, the computational challenge posed by SNP has not yet been well resolved due to the nonconvex and discontinuous ℓ-norm involved. In this paper, we resolve this numerical challenge by developing a fast Newton-type algorithm. As a theoretical cornerstone, we establish a first-order optimality condition for SNP based on the concept of strong β-Lagrangian stationarity via the Lagrangian function, and reformulate it as a system of nonlinear equations called the Lagrangian equations. The nonsingularity of the corresponding Jacobian is discussed, based on which the Lagrange–Newton algorithm (LNA) is then proposed. Under mild conditions, we establish the locally quadratic convergence and its iterative complexity estimation. To further demonstrate the efficiency and superiority of our proposed algorithm, we apply LNA to two specific problems arising from compressed sensing and sparse high-order portfolio selection, in which significant benefits accrue from the restricted Newton step.</p

    The Dark-Purple Tea Cultivar ‘Ziyan’ Accumulates a Large Amount of Delphinidin-Related Anthocyanins

    Recently, we developed a novel tea cultivar ‘Ziyan’ with distinct purple leaves. There was a significant correlation between leaf color and anthocyanin pigment content in the leaves. A distinct allocation of metabolic flow for B-ring trihydroxylated anthocyanins and catechins in ‘Ziyan’ was observed. Delphinidin, cyanidin, and pelargonidin (88.15 mg/100 g FW in total) but no other anthocyanin pigments were detected in ‘Ziyan’, and delphinidin (70.76 mg/100 g FW) was particularly predominant. An analysis of the catechin content in ‘Ziyan’ and eight other cultivars indicated that ‘Ziyan’ exhibits a preference for synthesizing B-ring trihydroxylated catechins (with a proportion of 74%). The full-length cDNA sequences of flavonoid pathway genes were isolated by RNA-Seq coupled with conventional TA cloning, and their expression patterns were characterized. Purple-leaved cultivars had lower amounts of total catechins, polyphenols, and water extract than ordinary non-anthocyanin cultivars but similar levels of caffeine. Because dark-purple-leaved Camellia species are rare in nature, this study provides new insights into the interplay between the accumulations of anthocyanins and other bioactive components in tea leaves

    Chen Chen is the author of When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities (BOA Editions, 2017), which was long-listed for the National Book Award and won the Thom Gunn Award, among other honors. Bloodaxe Books published a UK edition in June. He is also the author of four chapbooks, most recently You MUST Use the Word Smoothie (Sundress Publications, 2019) and Gesundheit! (in collaboration with Sam Herschel Wein and forthcoming from Glass Poetry Press, fall 2019). His work appears in many publications, including Poem-a-Day, The Massachusetts Review, The Best American Poetry, and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. He has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from Kundiman and the National Endowment for the Arts. He holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from Texas Tech University. He teaches at Brandeis University as the Jacob Ziskind Poet-in-Residence and co-runs the journal, Underblong. He lives in Waltham, Massachusetts, with his partner, Jeff Gilbert, and their pug, Mr. Rupert Gile
