CRUISE VESSELS DESIGN
CRUISE VESSEL DESIGN
A book of history, culture and design of cruise ships.
Has been written and investigated a lot in the architectural and engineering field; but it hasn’t been done the same for the naval architecture.
For this reason, the book “Cruise Vessels Design” has born:, a unique script with the purpose of opening the path of a wider knowledge, new research and new ideas.
The Volume is divided in two main Chapters.
The first chapter describes the evolution of shipbuilding, in both exterior and interior design and fitting. A major part is dedicated to contemporary cruise ships and to the evolution of a large and heterogeneous worldwide fleet which is in continuous development and where the exterior shape and the interior design are closely related to each other.
The second chapter talks about the general arrangement of the interior of a cruise ship.
Though not exhaustive of a complex topic of a naval design, sets out some basic fundamentals, covering the main areas of the ship, both public and private.
A specific treatment is dedicated to the Stateroom, the only private space on board
Yacht refitting.

ATTENTION, THE CRUISE IS LEAVING ON TRACK n.5....
The article discusses a new way of understanding the cruise and a new way to implement it. Based on the experience in the marine industry, the article is the result of a University Research whose subject is the “cruise”. It is assumed the transfer of the journey on land on board of a train specifically equipped for this purpose. Away from the glamour of the Orient Express, the new vehicle is structured with “cabin coaches” and “public booths coaches”, playing the modern cruise ship
IL TRASPORTO MARITTIMO DELLE MERCI
MARITIME TRANSPORT OF GOODS:
The article talks about the evolution of the maritime transport of goods on board of ships.
This is a particularly important topic that has always influenced the shape and the shipbuilding. Only in the ‘50s, with the arrival of containers, the transport of goods takes an international and multidisciplinary nature, profoundly transforming all forms of transport, especially the ship
Human Factors in the Design of Naval Vessels
Ergonomic studies play a particularly important role in the design of naval vessels. Key specializations, including physical, perceptual and organizational ergonomics, apply to navy ship spaces. The contributions of various
disciplines to the definition of naval vessels are analyzed and tested in an ergonomic perspective to continuously
seek solutions that enable increased efficiency while maintaining safety and comfort. Ergonomics is a science in a
continuing evolution. It analyzes social changes and the new expectations that are generated, to meet them at both
civilian and military level
Research laboratories: a change for experiment and confrontation
At the end of studies for the inter-university teaching degree in naval and nautical design, final
year students, under the supervision of teaching staff, have a guided project experience that
has the aim of consolidating and instilling the know-how acquired during the previous years’
educational cours
