The Kalai-Smorodinsky Bargaining Solution Manipulated by Pre-Donations is Concessionary
No full textThis study examines the manipulability of simple n-person bargaining problems by pre-donations where the Kalai-Smorodinsky solution is operant. We extend previous results on the manipulation of two-person bargaining problems to the n-person case and show that in a world where a prebargaining stage is instituted in which the bargainers may unilaterally alter the bargaining problem, bargainers with greater ideal payoffs transform the bargaining set into one on which the Kalai- Smorodinsky solution distributes payoffs in accordance with the Concessionary division rule of disputed property.Bargaining Solutions, Pre-donation, Kalai-Smorodinsky

No full textIn den überwiegend in das erste Viertel des 6. Jahrhunderts (Ältere Merowingerzeit 1/ MA1) datierten Gräbern nordgalliens werden regelmäßig große Glasperlen entdeckt, deren Funktion rätselhaft ist. Diese Perlen gehören zu einem klar definierten Typus (Legoux 50 oder 51) und werden im Allgemeinen in Frauengräbern im Bereich der unteren Gliedmaßen gefunden. Die Archäologen weisen ihnen meistens eine Funktion als Gürtelgehänge zu. Ältere Hypothesen, denen zufolge es sich um Luxusspinnwirtel oder um Amulette handelt, bleiben aktuell ; in den seltenen Fällen, in denen sie in Männergräbern gefunden wurden, werden sie als Schwertanhänger interpretiert. Diese drei Hypothesen werden in der vorliegenden Studie kommentiert und bestätigt. Ein durch eine Gebrauchsspurenanalyse ergänztes Protokoll experimenteller Archäologie zeigt, dass die Benutzung großer Perlen als Spinnwirtel sehr wahrscheinlich ist, und dass die Hypothese, der zufolge es sich bei diesen Perlen um Anhänger handelt, mit der Idee eines am Gürtel befestigten Wirtels nicht unvereinbar ist, da auch andere Gegenstände wie z. B. Messer, Schlüssel, Pinzetten am Gürtel befestigt waren. Sie waren zugleich funktionell und symbolisierten den sozialen Status der Verstorbenen.Large-sized glass beads of undetermined use have been repeatedly found in graves of Northern Gaul, mostly dated from the first quarter of the 6th century (MA1). These distinctively shaped beads (Legoux 50 or 51) are usually found near the lower members in women’s graves. Archaeologists often identify them as belt pendants. There also remains the old hypothesis of their being luxury spindle-whorls, lucky charms or swordbeads in the case of rare occurrences in men’s graves. All three hypotheses are discussed and validated in this study. An experimental archaeology protocol, augmented by the study of production traces, shows that the use of these large-sized beads as spindle whorls is highly likely. The hypothesis according to which these beads were strung does not contradict that of a spindle suspended from the belt since other suspended objects are found, such as knives, keys or shearing scissors.Des grosses perles en verre dont la fonction pose question sont régulièrement découvertes dans des sépultures du nord de la Gaule, datées majoritairement du premier quart du VIe siècle (Mérovingien Ancien 1/ MA1). Ces perles, de type bien distinct (Legoux 50 ou 51), sont trouvées généralement au niveau des membres inférieurs dans des sépultures féminines. Les archéologues leur attribuent le plus souvent une fonction de terminaison de cordelière. Il demeure l’hypothèse ancienne de fusaïole luxueuse ou prophylactique ou de pendentif d’épée dans les rares cas de dépôts des sépultures masculines. Les trois hypothèses sont commentées et validées dans cette étude. Un protocole d’archéologie expérimentale, complété d’une étude tracéologique, démontre que l’utilisation des grosses perles comme fusaïole est hautement probable et que l’hypothèse selon laquelle ces perles étaient suspendues n’est pas incompatible avec celle d’un fuseau accroché depuis la ceinture puisqu’on
retrouve d’autres objets suspendus comme des couteaux, des clés, des forces qui sont à la fois fonctionnels et symboliques du statut social de la défunte.Rajade Aliénor. No full textAlors que les recherches sur « l’urbanisation menée par l’État » mettent en lumière le rôle central du pouvoir de l’État dans le processus urbain, la notion de « corporatisme institutionnel/de village au niveau local » se focalise sur les intérêts des gouvernements locaux et des collectivités rurales dans le développement économique et dans la croissance urbaine, notamment dans la région du delta de la rivière des Perles. Toutefois, ces deux approches négligent les formes multiples de collectivités – systèmes fonciers communaux, clans locaux et territoires caractérisés par la prédominance de religions populaires – et leur participation au processus urbain. Cet article utilise une approche plus structurelle en considérant le « processus urbain » comme la réorganisation socio-spatiale du « collectif » dans les relations de production socio-spatiales capitalistes. L’étude ethnographique que j’ai menée dans le village Z à Dongguan montre que la prolétarisation ne fait pas seulement partie intégrante du processus urbain, mais qu’elle constitue aussi le contexte dans lequel se forgent les imaginaires communautaires et certaines formes d’activisme. Les collectivités locales ne partagent pas nécessairement les intérêts ni les valeurs de l’État développementiste mais font obstacle à tous les échelons des gouvernements locaux et perpétuent ainsi les contestations sur les espaces urbains
Recent innovations in the woolen and worsted industry of the United States
No full textThesis (Ph.D.)--Boston University.This is an essay about entrepreneurial behavior in the woolen and worsted industry, which is presently in an important period of transition. For many years prior to World War II the industry lay dormant, generating no major fundamental technological or other changes. A significant post-war cluster of innovations materialized, however, which has fomented a revolution, a novel state of affairs for the traditionally conservative industry. In the study of these innovations the approach of J.A. Schumpeter and W.R. Maclaurin has been employed. These men have emphasized the role of innovation in a dynamic economy.
Descriptive material has been written, principally in technical publications, concerning mechanical, chemical, corporate, and locational changes. In areas of this study which are concerned with such description the author has drawn heavily from these sources, providing appropriate documentation. These written sources have been supplemented by the writer's personal observations of the subject matter.
The most significant portion of the work concerns behavior of entrepreneurs. Although some case studies have been made in other industries, it is the belief of the author that this type of research is unique in the woolen and worsted industry. Because of the lack of documentary material concerning entrepreneurial behavior, most of the information has been derived from personal interviews. In every case the principals and their close associates were interviewed. All findings were cross-checked in discussion with other personnel of the concern, few of whom have been given proper documentary credit. It is believed that the case histories present a fair and accurate picture and that the conclusions drawn from these are valid.
We have thus analyzed the far-reaching changes in the industry since World War II. There have been more important changes during this period than at any time since the invention of the automatic loom and (excluding this one invention) since the original development of the industry on a factory basis. OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS
No full textDanes se podjetja soočajo z zahtevnejšim poslovanjem, rastjo stroškov in obsežnejšimi oskrbovalnimi verigami, zato potrebujejo orodja in rešitve, ki omogočajo hitro odločanje ter povečanje učinkovitosti upravljanja oskrbovalne verige. Za potrebe diplomske naloge smo najprej proučevali problematiko celotne notranje oskrbovalne verige v podjetju Hidria Perles. Spremljali smo delo nabavne službe, proizvodne službe in prodajne službe znotraj podjetja. Opravili intervjuje z nabavno referentko, planerjem oskrbovalne verige, vodjo proizvodnje in skladišč ter komercialistom v podjetju Hidra Perles d.o.o. Na podlagi odgovorov pridobljenih v teh intervjujih smo opisali obstoječe stanje v podjetju in ugotovili, da je glavni problem zastarelost celovite programske rešitve Baan 5. Nato pa smo predlagali rešitve, ki bi pripomogle k boljšemu delovanju oskrbovalne verige.Buissneses today face a more demanding operations, the growth of supply chain costs and therefore, they need better tools and solutions that enable rapid decision-making and increasing the efficiency of the management of the supply chain. For the needs of the projects we have carried out interviews with purchasing clerk, supply chain planner, head of production and warehouses and commercialist at the company Hidra Perles Ltd. On the basis of the answers obtained in these interviews, we describe the existing situation and the company and found that the main problem is outdated ERP Baan 5. Then we propose solutions which would contribute to the better functioning of the supply chain
