Synthesis, antiviral activity, and computational study of β-D-xylofuranosyl nucleoside phosphonates
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations provided insights into the favorable interactions between xylose nucleosides bearing a phosphonate moiety at their 3'-position and specific residues at the active site of the archetypal RNA-dependent RNA-polymerase (RdRp) of Enterovirus 71. Therefore, a series of xylosyl nucleoside phosphonates with adenine, uracil, cytosine, guanosine, and hypoxanthine as nucleobases were synthesized through multistep sequences starting from a single common precursor. Following antiviral activity evaluation, the adenine containing analogue was found to possess good antiviral activity against RNA viruses displaying an EC50 of 12 and 16 μM against measles virus (MeV) and enterovirus-68 (EV-68), respectively, whereas lacking cytotoxicity.sponsorship: KUL|C14/19/102status: Publishe

Supporting Data for Phenyl Side Groups Enhance Phonon Transport in Rubrene Crystals
33 .csv files containing all raw data for plots (outputs), including the main paper and the Supplementary Material, following the order of figure numbers. This dataset supports a systematic investigation of anisotropic phonon transport in rubrene single crystals. It includes experimentally measured in-plane and through-plane thermal conductivities over a wide temperature range, crystal orientation and structural characterization data, and molecular dynamics derived phonon properties. Specifically, the collection contains raw and processed thermal transport data along the a-, b-, and c-axes, phonon dispersion relations, phonon density of states, participation ratios, and calculated phonon group velocities associated with both the molecular backbone and phenyl side groups. Together, these data establish a direct link between molecular side-group dynamics and enhanced heat transport along the interlayer direction.
The dataset provides valuable benchmark information for the thermal properties of a benchmark organic semiconductor crystal and enables independent validation of the reported transport mechanisms. It is particularly useful for researchers modeling phonon transport in molecular solids, developing structure-property relationships in organic materials, and designing thermally optimized organic electronic devices.National Science Foundation through the MRSEC program (award No. DMR-2011401).NSF (Award No. CBET-2226579)National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) under Award Number ECCS-2025124Parts of this work were carried out at the UMN Characterization Facility, supported in part by the NSF through the MRSEC program.Xu, Xiaotian; Xu, Jiazhen; Cai, Yuqing; Chowdhury, Nusrat; Zhang, Chi; Cahill, David G.; Chen, Liang; Frisbie, C.
