Macroeconomic models and the yield curve: An assessment of the fit
Many have questioned the empirical relevance of the Calvo-Yun model. This paper adds a term structure to three widely studied macroeconomic models (Calvo-Yun, hybrid and Svensson). We back out from observations on the yield curve the underlying macroeconomic model that most closely matches the level, slope and curvature of the yield curve. With each model we trace the response of the yield curve to macroeconomic shocks. We assess the fit of each model against the observed behaviour of interest rates and find limited support for the Calvo-Yun model in terms of fit with the observed yield curve, we find some support for the hybrid model but the Svensson model performs best
Oncolytic adenovirus co-expressing IL-12 and IL-18 improves tumor-specific immunity via differentiation of T cells expressing IL-12R beta(2) or IL-18R alpha
The oncolytic adenovirus (Ad) is currently being advanced as a promising antitumor remedy as it selectively replicates in tumor cells and can transfer and amplify therapeutic genes. Interleukin (IL)-12 induces a potent antitumor effect by promoting natural killer (NK) cell and cytotoxic T cell activities. IL-18 also augments cytotoxicity of NK cells and proliferation of T cells. This effect further enhances the function of IL-12 in a synergistic manner. Therefore, we investigated for the first time an effective cancer immunogene therapy of syngeneic tumors via intratumoral administration of oncolytic Ad co-expressing IL-12 and IL-18, RdB/IL-12/IL-18. Intratumoral administration of RdB/IL-12/IL-18 improved antitumor effects, as well as increased survival, in B16-F10 murine melanoma model. The ratio of T-helper type 1/2 cytokine as well as the levels of IL-12, IL-18, interferon-gamma and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor was markedly elevated in RdB/IL-12/IL-18-treated tumors. Mice injected with RdB/IL-12/IL-18 also showed enhanced cytotoxicity of tumor-specific immune cells. Consistent with these results, immense necrosis and infiltration of NK cells, as well as CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells, were observed in RdB/IL-12/IL-18-treated tumor tissues. Importantly, tumors treated with RdB/IL-12/IL-18 showed an elevated number of T cells expressing IL-12R beta 2 or IL-18R alpha. These results provide a new insight into therapeutic mechanisms of IL-12 plus IL-18 and provide a potential clinical cancer immunotherapeutic agent for improved antitumor immunity. This work was supported by grants from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (10030051, Dr C-O Yun), the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (R15-2004-024-02001-0, 2009K001644, 2010-0029220, Dr C-O Yun), the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA-10172-332 to Dr C-O Yun), and Yonsei University College of Medicine faculty research grant (6-2010-0052, Dr C-O Yun). A Performance Guide to Etüden für Flöte(n) solo by Isang Yun
Born in Korea, Isang Yun (1917-1995) became one of the most prominent avant-garde composers in the world. Yun made use of a distinctive musical language that synthesized Far East Asian philosophy, especially Chinese Taoism, with Western techniques and Korean traditional instrumental idioms. Isang Yun left more that 100 works, including twelve works that feature the flute. This essay will discuss Yun’s five Etüden für Flöte(n) solo (Etudes for solo flute(s)), which are highly representative of Yun’s solo music for flute. The document will include a discussion and performance guide for each of the five etudes. This document will present an discussion of the five etudes and an examination of how Yun’s study of Korean traditional instrumental techniques, Western avant-garde procedures, and his oriental philosophy and ideology are reflected in these works. The fusion of Korean instrumental techniques, Chinese Taoist philosophy, and the “main tones” Yun refers to as Haupttöne, is exemplified in the five Etüden für Flöte(n) solo
A Multi-Language Comparison of Influences on Author Verification using Character N-Grams
We create a new multi-language corpus for author verification based on Wikipedia talkpages, and evaluate the influence that differences in topic and time have on character n-gram author profiles. Topic alignment between two texts is found to increase author verification precision, and an authors writing style is found to change over time, but not more significantly after 3 years than after 1 year.Information ArchitectureWISElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Molecular dynamic simulations of LA₂O₃ and LU₂O₃ doped silicate intergranular films in β-SI₃N₄
Thin, amorphous intergranular films (IGFs) ubiquitously exist at grain boundaries of polycrystalline ceramics. They play an important role in determining the macroscopic properties of high temperature structural ceramics. Silicon nitride ceramics (Si3N4) are high temperature structural ceramics due to their outstanding physical and mechanical properties at elevated temperature. The formation of the anisotropic grains of silicon nitride is very sensitive to the dopant cations used as sintering additives. HAADF-STEM images have shown that rare earth (RE) ions take very ordered locations, dependant upon the RE species, along the IGF/Prism interface in Si3N4 ceramics. However, such segregation does not explain the differences in morphology resulting from incorporation of the different RE additives. Atomistic details not readily available in experiments need to be collected. Molecular dynamics computer simulations are used to evaluate the structure, energy and fracture behavior of silicon oxynitride intergranular films (IGFs) containing rare-earth ions (La or Lu) between silicon nitride crystals as a function of IGF thickness, composition, and crystal orientations (prism, basal, and high index). La adsorption on the prism surface is observed at locations consistent with HAADF-STEM results. La segregation corresponding to N content is discussed. A variation in the local composition would cause some IGFs to show segregation of all La to the interface, leaving little La within the glassy IGF, while other IGFs may show more La remaining in the glassy IGF. Such differences affect strength. Lu does not adsorb onto a fully nitride prism surface. The presence of O at certain surface lattice sites plays a major role in the adsorption of Lu ions onto those sites consistent with HAADF-STEM results but has little effect on La siteing. .Energies of the La or Lu ions as a function of location are calculated to provide an explanation for the segregation behavior as well as consideration of their role in the glassy state of the IGF. Growth along the crystal surface is studied, providing an atomistic mechanism for the experimentally observed anisotropic grain growth of silicon nitride influenced by the different additives. Fracture strengths via stress-strain curves are calculated.Ph. D.Includes bibliographical referencesby Yun Jian
Homâyun-nâme and Shâhnâme
Homâyun-nâme is a verses in motagâreb meter with nearly sixty thousands couplets. This verses has been versified by a poet by the name of Zajjâji in seventh century. Subject of this verses is started by prophet of Islam and events of beginning of Islam and continue with narration of Islam and Iran Šhistory to age of Arsalân son of Togrol. Homâyun- name has two parts and manuscript of its second part is incomplete. Zajjâj Šverses, in spite of its oldness and detailed account, less has considered. In this paper we study attentions of Zajjâji to Ferdowsi and his extractions from Shâhnâme in three subjects/ parts: 1. Ferdowsi and Shâhnâme in Homâyun- name 2.names and stories of Shâhnâme in Homâyun-nâme 3.Zajjâji Šimitation from Ferdowsi Šstyle
