Robust indirect adaptive control of the electrohydraulic velocity control systems

    No full text
A robust version of an indirect adaptive control scheme with self-excitation capability to the problem of controlling velocity of the electrohydraulic servosystems subject to unmodelled dynamics and load disturbances is proposed. The scheme contains an effective gradient least squares estimator using a dead zone technique and a certainty equivalence based adaptive controller. A design procedure for synthesising the adaptive controller is formulated by using the pole-placement technique, where a signal is created and fed back to the control law such that it has self-excitation capability and thus the stability of the closed-loop control system can be achieved. A series of simulations are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The results show that the proposed scheme is fairly robust to the control systems with uncertainties as well as improved performance characteristics, compared with that of the suboptimal PID control scheme with constant feedback gain and that of the adaptive model following control scheme

Thermal characterization of thermally conductive underfill for a flip-chip package using novel temperature sensing technique

    No full text
The thermal characteristics of thermally conductive underfill in flip-chip package was studied. To enhance the thermal conductivity of underfill, the epoxy was mixed with thermally conductive fillers, such as silica (1.5 W/mK), alumina (36 W/mK) or diamond (2000 W/mK). Coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) was changed by filler and its content and CTE was 28 ppm for 60 wt% silica, 39 ppm for 60 wt% alumina and 24 ppm for 60 wt% diamond. Thermal conductivity was calculated from the measurement of thermal diffusivity, density and specific heat capacity under the various temperature conditions with the various fillers. To investigate thermal characteristics of different underfill, diode temperature sensor array (DTSA) was fabricated, which consisted of 32 x 32 array of diodes (1024 diodes) for temperature measurement and eight heaters for heat source on an 8 mm x 8 mm of silicon surface. The DTSA was packaged by flip-chip packaging method and applied with the same power (0.84 W) for different underfilled packages. Finally, the thermal simulations with ICEPAK matched very well with the measurement. (C) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

Kritik Moral dalam Antologi Puisi Potret Pembangunan Karya W.S. Rendra

Poetry that is enough to provide moral criticisms, one of which is the stroke poems of W.S. Rendra\u27s pen. His poems were enough to give a scathing critique of his time and to the end of his life. W.S. Rendra in writing his poems dared to launch a considerable criticism of the risk. The purpose of this research is so that the resulting literary works do not deviate from things that endanger the existence of the author. The method used in this study is the qualitative method. Data analysis will be done using the analysis of the contents of the document (content analysis document) namely by recording the important content expressed in the document or archive, but also its implied meaning. That W.S. Rendra\u27s poems containing the value of moral criticism include poems titled poor people, nursery rhymes, spy rhymes, corn rhymes, rhymes of an old man under a tree, and rhymes of girls and masters

Experiments on deposition behavior of fine sediment in a reservoir

    No full text
The deposition behavior of fine sediment is an important phenomenon, and yet it is unclear to engineers concerned about reservoir sedimentation. Laboratory experiments were conducted to produce both quasi-homogeneous flow and a turbidity current region divided by a plunge section. Silica powder (a noncohesive sediment) and kaolin (a cohesive sediment) were used as the suspended material. Because the effective gravitational force is the primary driving force for velocity in turbidity currents, the velocity profile was closely related to the concentration profile. The deposition rate of noncohesive coarser particles exponentially decays along the flow path. Most of the coarser particles were deposited in the quasi-homogeneous flow region or within a small distance downstream of the plunge section. The plunge did not carry those coarser particles further downstream. Deposition in the region of the turbidity current was found mainly by cohesive particles. Hydraulic sorting exists in the quasi-homogeneous flow region for noncohesive coarser particles, but becomes less significant in the downstream portion with deposition rates becoming mildly decayed. For fine cohesive particles, hydraulic sorting for the deposited gradation is not significant

The problems raised relate to literary criticism in the poem W.S. Rendra. Poetry is one of the right literature to describe the mind of the author, concerning the social life of the community with its various inequalities, as well as one of the media to convey criticism to individuals and groups. The purpose of this research is to keep literary works away from deviant things that endanger the existence of the author. The method used in this study is qualitative method. The data analysis techniques the authors used in this study are : 1)Read Poetry by W.S. Rendra carefully. 2) then write the value of social criticism contained in the poem. 3) Mark supporting sentences containing social criticism. 4) Analyze social criticism based on data obtained. Social criticism contained in the poem by W.S. Rendra entitled Sajak Orang Miskin, Sajak Joki Tobing untuk Widuri, Sajak Seonggok Jagung, Sajak Pertemuan Mahasiswa, and Sajak Sebatang Lisong contains social criticisms that include the related  social life faced by society, the social life gaps experienced by students, and the social lives of the rich and poor people
