No full textDer durch die Bologna Konferenz 1999 im Gang gesetzte Prozess für eine wirtschaftlich, umweltfreundlich und kulturell tragbare Entwicklung hat zur Zusammenstellung der European Research Area geführt, die sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Bildungssysteme von allen teilnehmenden Ländern zu normieren. Unter den ersten Wirkungen war die lange erhoffte Zunahme von Hochschulabsolventen in ganzem Europa. Die Bologna-Erklärung ist somit zum festen Bestandteil der gesamteuropäischen bildungspolitischen Tradition geworden. Will man auf dessen Akzeptanz in den beteiligten Ländern genauer sehen, so kann man für Italien auf eine breite Akzeptanz hinweisen. Das Interesse am europäischen Wissenschaftsraum ist in Italien ebenso groß. Nicht von ungefähr wurde in Italien der Bologna-Prozess inzwischen beinahe gänzlich umgesetzt, was unter anderem von der im Jahr 2008 von der Regierung verordneten Feinabstimmung aller Studiengänge bezeugt wird. Natürlich bleibt eine Anzahl von Fragen offen. In Italien muss sehr bald das Abitur antizipiert werden. Denn Italien zählt noch zu den immer weniger Ländern, die eine dreizehnjährige Schulbildung anbieten. Da sich interdisziplinäre Studium Generale Module zu den kulturellen Kompetenzen sich hervorragend zur Neugestaltung des Überganges von der Schule zur Universität eigen, wäre es durchaus denkbar, dass solche Module in Italien den Kern eines ersten propädeutischen Studienjahres bilden würden, was die Konsequenz mit sich bringen würde, im italienischen Hochschulsystem wechselte man von einem dreijährigen zu einem vierjährigen Modell. Das Hauptproblem besteht wohl darin, im Geist der Bologna-Erklärung eine Idee von Wissenschaft zu vermitteln, die als Brücke zwischen Grundlagen- und angewandte Forschung fungiert. Die Antwort lässt sich in den Studium Generale Module, die darauf ausgerichtet sind, Studenten und Dozenten eine Aneignung der europäischen intellektuellen Identität konkret zu ermöglichen. An vielen europäischen Universitäten werden bereits Studium Generale Veranstaltungen angeboten, mit dem Ziel einer Orientierung vor der endgültigen curricularen Entscheidung. Im Studium Generale wird kein Abschluss vorgesehen, da es sich vielmehr um eine Hilfsmaßnahme handelt, die sich an alle Studenten wendet. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der Erziehung zum Selbstdenken gewidmet, womit Studenten in Sachen reflexives Nachdenken, interdisziplinäres Querdenken und kommunikatives Denken zu Probe gestellt werden. Zugrunde liegt das neuhumanistischen Ideals von Robert Maynard Hutchins, der um die Mitte des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts die berühmten Humanities 1 und Humanities 2 Module sowie das Great Books Curriculum einführte, dessen textuellen Basis in den vierundfünfzig Bänden der Encyclopedia Britannica Reihe, The Great Books of the Western World, von Homer bis Sigmund Freud lag

An analytical model for predicting critical feed rate in drilling of composite laminates
No full textThe thrust force during drilling is one of key indexes to describe machinability of composite laminates owing to the fact that it directly affects the quality of drilled holes, especially drilling-induced delamination. The size of drilling-induced delamination zone has been shown to be related to the thrust force during drilling composite laminate, and it is believed that there is a critical thrust force below which no delamination appears. However, thrust force strongly depends on drilling parameters and it is not possible to control it directly. Thrust force can be correlated with feed rate. This paper presents an analytical model for predicting critical feed rate at the onset of delamination propagation. Delamination evaluation of composite laminates with different interface fiber orientations using acoustic emission features and micro visualization
No full textThis study aims to investigate the sequence of initiation and evolution of different damage mechanisms during the DCB standard test procedure on specimens with different interface fiber orientation using Acoustic Emission (AE) data analysis and microscopic imaging methods. For this purpose, a series of experiments based on standard ASTM D5528 were performed on 24 layer glass epoxy multidirectional specimens with ±θ/05 As As layup, in which θ is 0. 30. 45 and 60. The acoustic data were then acquired with two AE sensors and the whole test procedure was observed by two digital cameras, which were focused on specimen edges. The results show that the initiation and evolution process of matrix cracking as the first activated damage mechanism greatly depends on the interface fiber orientation. Also, load-displacement curves and AE data can be well correlated with microscopic observation in all stages of damage initiation, evolution and propagation. Although the standard nonlinear point as crack initiation onset predict an equal fracture energy for all cases, however AE analyses and microscopic observations show early damage initiation and evolution in 45 and 60-degree interfaces
