Kata kunci: aizuchi, jenis-jenis, fungsi, pragmatik ABSTRACT In Japanese communication culture, giving backchannles or aizuchi to the speaker while speaking is very common and is an important component of a conversation. The author conducted a research that aims to analyze the types and functions of aizuchi found in Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi animation from the pragmatics point of view based on the theory proposed by Horiguchi Sumiko and Searle. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. The data processing technique used is simak bebas libat cakap (SLBC). The data source used is in the form of speech containing aizuchi uttered by eight characters in Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi animation, namely, Chihiro, Chihiro's father, Chihiro's mother, Haku, Rin, Kamaji, Yubaba, and Zeniba. Based on the data analysis, three types of aizuchi were found in this animated film: aizuchi vocabulary (aizuchishi) as much as 59 data, repetition sign (kurikaeshi) as much as 12 data, and other forms (sono ta) as much as 10 data. In this research, there are 5 functions of aizuchi in this animated film, namely a sign of listening (kiiteiru to iu shingou) as much as 11 data, a sign of understanding the content of speech (rikai to iu shingou) as much as 24 data, a sign of agreeing with the speaker's statement (doui no shingou) as much as 15 data, a sign of rejection (hitei no shingou) as much as 13 data, a sign of expression of feelings (kanjou no hyougen) as much as 18 data. Then, after reviewing from a pragmatic point of view, it was found that aizuchi that functions as a sign of rejection (hitei no shingou) is equivalent to the type of commissive speech act, and aizuchi that functions as a sign of expression of feelings (kanjou no hyougen) is equivalent to expressive speech acts. In addition, this study found that one form of aizuchi has two different functions. Also, the researcher found that two different forms of aizuchi can be used in an utterance. Keywords: aizuchi, types, functions, pragmatic

Además, que la mira como una obra icónica de un arte que debate desde la tradición, los procesos globales y desde una feminidad protagonista hacia los cambios del mundo contemporáneoThis research analyzes the female main character of the film “El viaje de Chihiro” by the Japanese author, director, and filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, in the context of film and its transcendence in art in the era of reproducibility, as Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) warned with the twist of artistic expression of producing an auratic aesthetic to one of the shows along with the redefinition of a new visuality in globalization. Thus, this anime from a culture far from our own is understood as a new form of visual expression. In addition, it looks like an iconic work of an art that debates from tradition, global processes and from a leading femininity towards the changes of the contemporary worl

<Articles>A Study of Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go: Narrator Concealment and Dystopia

    No full text
When Kazuo Ishiguro's sixth novel, Never Let Me Go (2005), is classified within a literary genre, the work is often considered either romantic or dystopian. This paper, through considering the work as a dystopian novel, explores what kind of literary technique the author utilized to show his dystopian view. Noted features of Ishiguro's works include first-person narrators and multilayered themes. Kathy, the narrator of Never Let Me Go, recalls her life nostalgically, relying on her uncertain memories. Hailsham, where Kathy and her friends spent their childhood, is a utopian space for clones. However, the dystopian nature of Hailsham is revealed through Kathy's reluctant narration. In this novel, universal themes such as love, friendship, memory, and a view of life are foregrounded by means of a first-person narrative and backgrounded by a dystopian world view depicting clone society. This paper attempts to expose how such a narrative technique is related with Ishiguro's view of dystopian society
