A Scientific Journal List at Japanese News Articles

    No full text
Abstract (our paper) In Japanese scientific news articles, although the research results are described clearly, the article's sources tend to be uncited. This makes it difficult for readers to know the details of the research. In this paper, we address the task of extracting journal names from Japanese scientific news articles. We hypothesize that a journal name is likely to occur in a specific context. To support the hypothesis, we construct a character-based method and extract journal names using this method. This method only uses the left and right context features of journal names. The results of the journal name extractions suggest that the distribution hypothesis plays an important role in identifying the journal names. Data list.txt.gz: The first column is the extraction text by our method (journal name), the second column is the cleaned text, the third column is the news date, and the fourth column is the news URL.
Abstract (our paper)

This paper investigates the page view and interlanguage link at Wikipedia for Japanese comic analysis. This paper is based on a preliminary investigation, and obtained three results, but the analysis is insufficient to use the results for a market research immediately. I am looking for research collaborators in order to conduct a more detailed analysis.

Data

Publication

This data set was created for our study.
Abstract (our paper)

Many researchers work on studies for discovering trend keywords and queries on the web, i.e., search frequency and social media. Moreover, studies on trend query classifications are being conducted. However, the behavior of trend queries for various web resources is unclear. In this study, we investigate how trend queries appear in different resources on the web. We clarify the following. (1) Most trend queries are not registered with online dictionary services. (2) The trend converges in approximately two days. (3) Social media websites (such as Twitter) are responsive to trend queries.

Data

Publication

This data set was created for our study.
Abstract (our paper)

The frequency of a web search keyword generally reflects the degree of public interest in a particular subject matter. Search logs are therefore useful resources for trend analysis. However, access to search logs is typically restricted to search engine providers. In this paper, we investigate whether search frequency can be estimated from a different resource such as Wikipedia page views of open data. We found frequently searched keywords to have remarkably high correlations with Wikipedia page views. This suggests that Wikipedia page views can be an effective tool for determining popular global web search trends.

Data

personal-name.txt.gz:
The first column is the Wikipedia article id, the second column is the search keyword, the third column is the Wikipedia article title, and the fourth column is the total of page views from 2008 to 2014.

personal-name_data_google-trends.txt.gz, personal-name_data_wikipedia.txt.gz:
The first column is the period to be collected, the second column is the source (Google or Wikipedia), the third column is the Wikipedia article id, the fourth column is the search keyword, the fifth column is the date, and the sixth column is the value of search trend or page view.

Publication

This data set was created for our study. Data Tweets_YYYY-MM.tsv.gz: The first column is the tweet id, the second column is the date and time (JST) when the tweet was posted, the third column is the tweet id of the mention destination, the fourth column is the tweet id of the retweet source, the fifth column is the place id, the sixth column is the country code, the seventh column is the prefecture code if the country code is JP, and the eighth column is the COVID-19-related keyword included in the tweet. Columns with no information are empty. For example, a tweet with an empty eighth column is not a COVID-19-related tweet. This data was collected using statuses/sample of the Twitter Streaming API, narrowed down by language=ja. Therefore, most of the tweets are Japanese tweets. Also, due to a failure of the data collection server, a large number of tweets on January 22 are missing :( We have used 肺炎, コロナ and COVID (case insensitive) as keywords related to COVID-19. Emotions_YYYY-MM.tsv.gz: The first column is the tweet id, the second and subsequent columns are the number of occurrences of each emotional keyword. Column names (types of emotion) are shown in the first row. We used mlask43-simple (Perl implementation of ML-Ask) with dictionaries used in pymlask to extract emotional keywords from the tweet. The Relationship Between Formation of the "Sajok" (Local elite) Lineage and "Up" (Regional Space) in Early Modern Korea : A Case Study of An-dong Kwon Family in Tanseong

    No full text
In this paper, the author attempts to analyse the process of formation of the An-dong Kwon family and its lineage, which was known as a sajok based on Tanseong area in south part of the Korea peninsula in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Mainly by studying four kinds of nominal sources, the "hojok" (household register book), the "chokpo" (genealogical book), the "hyangan" (list of regional elite) and the anthologies of sajok members, the author comes to the conclusion as follows. 1. Before the sixteenth century, the sajok spread all parts of Korea by marriages and migrations. 2. The authority of the sajok based on local area was maintained by their legitimated behavior as a Confucian and their familial group's appointment as bureaucrat, and was reproduced by their lineage union. 3. Migrations of the local sajoks across the boundary of their ups disappeared in the eighteenth century. They shaped their lineage union within the up, which served as the primary geographical limit

Furthermore, it is also surprising that not much studying has been done on Seo Mitsuo either, who created about 25 pieces of work during the period of 1932 and 1949 through a method known as “Sell Animation.” The purpose of this study is to understand Kenjo Masaoka, a genius of Sell Animation, and analyze his works in order to identify the nature of those works. There are five main points in conclusion: first, of division of labor was developed more by use of a cell, and that a big hint was given to a division system of an after Japan animation co. The thing in which two could express a movement of the character which makes a story stand out freely using a cell. Such as applying to a movie cartoon three of taking a picture, various methods are tried, consequently, the thing which improved the quality of a movie cartoon. I kept studying four music methods, and that musical visualization was advanced. Five kept educating the posterity represented by Mitsuyo Seo and others, and that their ability was improved

Reviewing its self image and redefining its role as a regional power : contemporary Japan and international population movement

What sort of change in policy may be possible if a state reviewed its structural conditions and the significance of its own power with regard to other actors in international relations? This paper asks this question with regard to contemporary Japan’s policy towards an issue arising from the arrival of migrants in post-Cold War years, in particular whether to provide safety to migrants within the country. Japan used to be ‘a country without migration’ until the 1970s, but from the 1980s onwards has been in transition to be a key destination for international population movement (IPM). This paper surveys the literature on Japan’s international relations, examines theories of IPM, and describes the history of modern Japan focusing particular attention on its experiences of international migration. If Japan did not provide a safe environment for migrants, that would be questionable as being a differential form of treatment. What obstructs the provision of safety is a world view informed by an atomistic view of international relations and an understanding of history which is only focused on a limited time period. In contrast, what can contribute to reducing such a barrier will be a combination of natural law thinking, a relational view of international relations, an understanding of history with a time frame over several decades, and a recognition that current IPM is a reflection of Japan’s economic power in the neighbouring regio
