"Hoge Foundation" is the name of this creation in honor of the woman whose cenizo shrubs went the way of all growing things about this time of year around Weslaco. The formal gown was made by the P.T.A. from two bushels of ground cenizo leaves with a half bushel of yellow chrysanthemums thrown in for the decorative touch. Her gloves, purse, and shoes were all of the same materials. The waist corsage, necklace and earrings were of the daisy chrysanthemum group

Joann is representing the Lions Club of Weslaco. Everyone got into the act! Wives, children and babysitters fashioned this beautiful green and white evening dress out of 12 yds. of foundation material, 16 quarts of tepehuaje leaves, 723-1/2 bachelor buttons, 205 Chrysanthemums, 102 grapefruitand gallon of glue. Five cookies of two cups of coffee for each of the 350 hours required to construct the dress were also "used.
