A mixed human body modeling method based on 3D body scanning for clothing industry
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to propose a relatively simple and rapid method to create a digital human model (DHM) to serve clothing industry.
Design/methodology/approach
Human body’s point cloud is divided into hands, foots, head and torso. Then forward modeling method is used to model hands and foots, photo modeling method is used to model head and reverse modeling method is used to model torso. After that, hands, foots, head and torso are integrated together to get a static avatar. Next, virtual skeleton is bound to the avatar. Finally, a lifelike digital human body model is created by the mixed modeling method (MMM).
Findings
In allusion to the defect of the three-dimension original data of human body, this paper presented an MMM, with which we can get a realistic digital human body model with accurate body dimensions. The DHM can well meet the needs of fashion industry.
Practical implications
The DHM, which is got by the MMM, can be well applied in the field of virtual try on, virtual fashion design, virtual fashion show and so on.
Originality/value
The originality of the paper lies in the integration of forward modeling, reverse modeling and photo modeling to present a novel method of human body modeling

Flow State at Impeller Inlet: Optimization of Conical Frustum Section of Elbow Inlet Conduit in Large Low-Lift Pump Station
In large low-lift pump stations, the pump assembly comprises an inlet conduit, a pump, and an outlet conduit. A short conical frustum section that connects the elbow section with the impeller inlet directly affects the impeller inflow state, thereby influencing the overall performance. Therefore, investigating the conical frustum section contributes to studying the effect of inflow states on the performances of pump assemblies and similar
pumping systems. To improve the pump assembly efficiency, three parameters of the conical frustum section, i.e., the contraction angle, height, and centerline inclination angle, are investigated and optimized via univariate and multivariate analyses. The flow field and external characteristics of the pump assembly are investigated via computational fluid dynamics simulation with a constant head. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis and discussion of the performance improvement mechanisms are presented. The results indicate that the axial velocity distribution at the impeller inlet conforming to the cascade high-efficiency characteristics will achieve a better pump performance compared with a uniform distribution. The pump efficiency distribution can be predicted and visualized based on the cascade efficiency characteristics and the flow state at the impeller inlet using a machine learning method. In addition, the directions and distribution of the lateral and axial components of the inflow velocities have great impacts on the circulation distribution. A sensible circulation distribution at the guide vane outlet can suppress the
entropy production and reduce hydraulic loss of the outlet conduit. In this case, a significant increase in the pump assembly efficiency is obtaine
Single zircon ages from high-grade rocks of the Jianping Complex, Liaoning Province, NE China
The high-grade rocks of the Jianping Complex in Liaoning Province, NE China, belong to the late Archaean to earliest Proterozoic granulite belt of the North China craton. Single zircon ages obtained by the bb-bo evaporation method and SHRIMP analyses document an evolutionary history that began with deposition of a cratonic supracrustal sequence some 2522-2551 Ma ago, followed by intrusion of granitoid rocks beginning at 2522 Ma and reaching a peak at about 2500 Ma. This was followed by high-grade metamorphism, transforming the existing rocks into granulites, charnockites and enderbites some 2485-2490 Ma ago. The intrusion of post-tectonic granites at 2472 Ma is associated with widespread metamorphic retrogression and ends the tectono-metamorphic evolution of this terrain. A similar evolutionary sequence has also been recorded in the granulite belt of Eastern Hebei Province. We speculate that the Jianping Complex was part of an active continental margin in the late Archaean that became involved in continental collision and crustal thickening shortly after its formation. There is a remarkable similarity between the similar to 2500 Ma North China granulite belt and the equally old granulite bell of Southern India, suggesting that the two crustal domains could have been part of the same active plate margin in latest Archaean times. Zircon U-Pb chronology of the Jianping Complex: Implications for the Precambrian crustal evolution history of the northern margin of North China Craton
The Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic Jianping complex in the western Liaoning province is an important component of the Precambrian basement of the North China Craton. This region connects the Neoarchean Fengning-Chengde complex in the west, the Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic North Chaoyang complex in the northeast and the Yixian-Fuxin Archean greenstone belt in the east. The Precambrian Jianping complex is dominantly composed of metamorphosed supracrustal sequence and dioritic to granitoid gneisses (tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite, TTG). Here we present results from LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb isotope dating from the various lithological units in this complex, which reveal that the magmatic precursors of the metavolcanic rocks associated with the supracrustal sequence were generated during 2555-2550 Ma, and up to 2615 Ma. A major magmatic pulse of dioritic to granitic suite occurred during 2538 to 2495 Ma. This was followed by ca. 2485 Ma granulite facies metamorphism and a retrograde event at ca. 2450-2401 Ma. Our data also reveal a major charnockite emplacement event in this region at ca. 1694 Ma. Integrating our new results with the available geologic and previous geochronological data, we identify three major growth stages in the crustal evolution history of the northern margin of the Eastern Continental Block of the North China Craton at ca. 2550-2495 Ma, ca. 2403-2394 Ma, and ca.1700 Ma. The LA-ICP-MS zircon data provide new insights on the Neoarchean to Paleoproterozoic tectonothermal evolution history in the northern margin of the Eastern Continental Block of the North China Craton.
