No full textTraditionally, the annual analytical paper opens the World Professional “Crimea” Forum. The author introduces the concept of digitalization and defines its key differences from informatization. He emphasizes that digital transformation facilitates digital economics being characterized by the advance of the Internet, resources digitization, mobile communications, digital technologies, primarily in finances and economics, and merging online and offline services. He quotes statistical data on the digital economics in various countries. In the Russian Federation, the digital economy develops intensively and embraces industries, banking, healthcare, government, and, in particular, libraries and archives. The principal international documents to facilitate global digitalization are analyzed. In Russia, the fundamental documents are adopted with the reference to the global practice of digital transformations. The author formulates the trends in the digitalization that make direct impact on the librarianship and information industry; he also specifies the goals for the libraries in the digital epoch. The latest changes in the world book market are discussed along with its statistics. The focus is made on the open access and copyright issues. The author concludes that the libraries of the future make the inherent part of the global information infrastructure.Представлен ежегодный аналитический доклад, традиционно открывающий международный профессиональный форум «Крым». В начале доклада рассмотрено, что такое цифровизация, выделены её главные отличия от информатизации. Подчёркнуто, что цифровая трансформация в обществе стимулирует развитие цифровой экономики, для которой характерны: развитие интернета, оцифровка ресурсов, мобильные коммуникации, электронные технологии, в первую очередь в финансово-экономической сфере, слияние сфер онлайн и оффлайн. Приведены статистические данные о состоянии цифровой экономики в разных странах. Отмечено, что в России цифровая экономика интенсивно развивается: ею охвачены такие сферы, как промышленность, банковское дело, здравоохранение, государственная деятельность; библиотечная и архивная также идут в ногу со временем. Проанализированы основополагающие международные документы, способствовавшие глобальной цифровизации, и принятые в России базовые документы, благодаря которым происходят цифровые трансформации с учётом мировой практики. Сформулированы главные тренды цифровизации, прямо влияющие на развитие библиотечно-информационной отрасли, а также задачи библиотек в цифровую эпоху. Рассмотрены последние изменения, происходящие на мировом книжном рынке; приведена характеризующая его статистика. Особое внимание уделено проблемам открытого доступа к информации и авторского права. В заключение подчёркнуто, что библиотека будущего – это неотъемлемая часть мировой информационной инфраструктуры

No full textThe journal version of the analytical review presented at the Second International Professional Forum “Crimea-2016”. Threatening ‘information explosion’ and ‘information collapse’, information addiction, information security, and other problems of information society are discussed. The author also explores the issue of the so called ‘information revolutions’, and analyzes the status of book publishing in Russia and the world. Five key trends that, in IFLA experts’ opinion, are to change the information environment are listed. No full textTraditionally, the annual report opens the World Professional Crimea Forum. Primarily, the speaker focuses on the concept of digital economy interpreted as the economic relations system based on the digital information and communication technologies. The Program “Digital economy of the Russian Federation” is reviewed. Several concepts, e. g. bitcoin and blockchain, Industry 4.0, New Internet, etc., are defined. The current problems of the Internet are examined, in particular, the lack of the single management and development center. The statistical data on the profile and involvement of the internet users is reported. Special attention is given to using Internet in Russia and the related problem of copyright in Russia and worldwide. The role of open access in building the knowledge environment and the role of the main contributors to the process, namely, publishers, libraries, educational institutions, are emphasized. Online education and accessible seamless education environment are specified as the main trends in education, The key vectors of developing knowledge content and its application in the digital environment are defined, these are: inclusiveness, artificial intelligence and green (sustainable) libraries, etc. The current situation in the global book market is evaluated on the basis of the results of the London Book Fair 2018. The project “The modern digital educational environment in the Russian Federation” is examined along with the projected results. The role of the National Electronic Library as the major innovative library project and the national information system is emphasized. The author concludes that the libraries of the future become an essential part of the national and global information infrastructure

No full textThe journal version of the Annual Report presented at Crimea-2017 Third World Professional Forum (full-text version was published in the brochure distributed among the Forum participants). Modern trends, particularly The Big Data (which is reality at libraries, universities, research centers, archives, museums, as well as publishing and book trade), open access and digitizing of information sources are analyzed in detail as major factors of information environment development. The statistics of the rise in information content is given. The extracts from the UN resolution «Transforming our world: the 2030 agenda for sustainable development» adopted on September 25, 2015, and set to forth starting January 1, 2016 are cited. Its goals and objectives directly related to libraries, archives and academic institutions are highlighted. The copyright issues are analyzed as well. The principles libraries, museums and archives are to observe while implementing new technologies are highlighted. The correlation between electronic and printed book at the present book market is analyzed. It is underlined that “live”, i.e. printed book and live communication are the main values in our current life.Журнальная версия ежегодного доклада, представленного на Третьем Международном профессиональном форуме «Крым-2017» (полная версия издана в виде брошюры, которую получили участники Форума). No full textMain development vectors for the Russian National Public library for Science and Technology (RNPLS&T) celebrating its 60th anniversary are discussed. Today, RNPLS&T is the largest sci-tech library in the nation, and also a research institution, and a federal information center. The major projects within the framework of the federal target programs are described, e. g. national subscription, EKBSON (Electronic Catalog of Libraries in Education and Science), science archive, National Electronic Library, etc., that make the Library one of the leaders on the information support of science and education.Building the unified open archive system is an important challenge that RNPLS&T is facing today. The library’s education projects make an important part of its activities; it also plans to go on with its advanced professional training programs. The Library also serves a site for bringing together users and sci-tech professionals and creative community. RNPLS&T has accumulated vast experience in hosting various social activities (meetings, lectures, tournaments of the Chess Culture and Information Center, workshops, schools, fests organized by the Group for Ecology and Sustainable Development Projects; events hosted by Popular Science reading room, etc.)Представлены основные направления развития ГПНТБ России, отметившей 60-летний юбилей. Подчёркнуто, что сегодня ГПНТБ России – крупнейшая научнотехническая библиотека страны, научно-исследовательский институт и информационный центр федерального значения. Освещены крупные проекты в рамках федеральных целевых программ: национальная подписка, Электронный каталог библиотек системы образования и науки (ЭКБСОН), научный архив, Национальная электронная библиотека и др., позволившие библиотеке стать одним из лидеров в сфере информационного обеспечения науки и образования. Сформулирована важная задача ГПНТБ России на современном этапе развития – создание единой системы открытого архива. Подчёркнуто, что значимая сфера деятельности библиотеки – образовательные проекты; в её планах – развитие дополнительного профессионального образования.Обращено внимание на то, что ещё одна востребованная функция библиотеки – площадка для встреч читателей и представителей научной и творческой интеллигенции. ГПНТБ России накопила богатый опыт проведения мероприятий разной тематической направленности (встречи, лекции, турниры Центра шахматной культуры и информации; семинары, школы, фестивали, организованные группой развития проектов в области экологии и устойчивого развития; мероприятия зала научно-технического творчества «Популярная наука»)
