Analysis of 1 out of 2 Main Units and 2 out of 4 Subunits System
Introduction of redundancy is one of the well known methods by which the reliability of a system can be improved. A standby redundant system is one in which one operating unit is followed by spare units called standbys. On failure of operating unit, a standby unit is in working mode. In the present paper we investigate the probabilistic analysis of a two main unit and four subunit system. The system remain operative if one main unit and two subunit are in working mode. System is failed when the main unit fails. A failed system is replaced by new one. The failed sub unit are repairable. Malasian Journal of Library and Information Science: An analysis of Author Collaboration
This article presents the analysis of collaboration pattern for the articles published in the journal: Malasian Journal of Library and Information Science during the period 2011-2015. Several indicators of collaboration including authorship pattern, collaboration index, degree of collaboration, and collaboration coefficient has been studied. Average authors per paper, productivity per author, most prolific authors, single authored and multi-authored articles are investigated. During the period of study MJLIS has published 110 articles by 289 authors, out of which 18 single authored, 42 double authored, 33 triple authored, 9 four author, 3 five author and 5 more than 5 authored papers have been contributed. The average degree of collaboration is 0.83, average collaboration index is 2.67, average coefficient of collaboration is 0.51, and average modified collaboration coefficient is 0.53 during the five years 2011-2015. Bibliometrics (43 times) Information literacy(11), Library use (12), Information seeking (10)and Malaysia (8) anr the most used keywords. The most productive institutes are found to be University of Malaya, Malaysia (60),Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (17), Islamic Azad University, Iran (13)and Universiti Sains Malaysia (12).The top four most prolific authors are A Abrizah with 10 (3.39%) articles, A Zainab with 9 papers, N H Abdul Karim and S A Saani each with five papers. Average authors per paper (AAPP) during the five years are found to be 2.57,2.9, 2.63, 2.25, 2.80 . It was found that there are 38 inter-institute collaborations, 34 are intra institute collaborations and 25 international collaborations

Clustering, Pathway Enrichment, and Protein-Protein Interaction Analysis of Gene Expression in Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Neuronal developmental disorder is a class of diseases in which there is impairment of the central nervous system and brain function. The brain in its developmental phase undergoes tremendous changes depending upon the stage and environmental factors. Neurodevelopmental disorders include abnormalities associated with cognitive, speech, reading, writing, linguistic, communication, and growth disorders with lifetime effects. Computational methods provide great potential for betterment of research and insight into the molecular mechanism of diseases. In this study, we have used four samples of microarray neuronal developmental data: control, RV (resveratrol), NGF (nerve growth factor), and RV + NGF. By using computational methods, we have identified genes that are expressed in the early stage of neuronal development and also involved in neuronal diseases. We have used MeV application to cluster the raw data using distance metric Pearson correlation coefficient. Finally, 60 genes were selected on the basis of coexpression analysis. Further pathway analysis was done using the Metascape tool, and the biological process was studied using gene ontology database. A total of 13 genes AKT1, BAD, BAX, BCL2, BDNF, CASP3, CASP8, CASP9, MYC, PIK3CD, MAPK1, MAPK10, and CYCS were identified that are common in all clusters. These genes are involved in neuronal developmental disorders and cancers like colorectal cancer, apoptosis, tuberculosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), neuron death, and prostate cancer pathway. A protein-protein interaction study was done to identify proteins that belong to the same pathway. These genes can be used to design potential inhibitors against neurological disorders at the early stage of neuronal development. The microarray samples discussed in this publication are part of the data deposited in NCBI’s Gene Expression Omnibus (Yadav et al., 2018) and are accessible through GEO Series (accession number GSE121261)
An Indian Official’s Trials and Tribulations
In this chapter Ruchi Ram Sahni recounts what he calls the most depressing and unpleasant incident of his life. It involved his supersession for the position of Professor-in-Charge of the Chemistry Department at the Government College, Lahore, by a much younger Englishman, fresh from university. The post in question was vacated by an English colleague, a Senior Professor, with whom the author had a difficult relationship involving a dispute about who was to be selected for the post of Examiner in the university examinations. This colleague went on to write a secret report against Sahni, resulting in his supersession despite his vast seniority. Sahni relates the psychological trauma resulting from this experience, and its contribution to strengthen his resolve to leave Lahore for a short period to do research in Europe.</p
