Physiological characteristics of recombinant Escherichia coli cells displaying poly-His peptides
Using the Escherichia coli OmpC protein as an anchoring motif, four different poly-His units (1, 2, 3 and 6 copies of 6-His) were displayed on the seventh loop of the OmpC. Recombinant E. coli strains displaying 1, 3 or 6 copies of poly-His became much more sensitive to SDS (0.1%, w/v) and EDTA (2 mM) compared with control strains. However, recombinant E. coli cells displaying 2 copies of poly-His were resistant to SDS and EDTA; greater than 70% and 90% of cells maintained cell integrity after 60 min treatment with SDS and EDTA, respectively, suggesting its usefulness as a whole cell biosorbent. This work was supported by the First Young Scientist’s

Weaving Business Processes and Rules: a Petri Net Approach
The emerging service-oriented computing paradigm advocates building distributed information systems by chaining reusable services instead of by programming from scratch. To do so, not only business processes, but also business rules, policies and constraints need to be encoded in a process language such as Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL). Unfortunately, the intermixing of business processes and rules in a single process weakens the modularity and adaptability of the systems. In this paper, we propose a formal approach to model the weaving of business processes and rules, following the aspect-oriented principle. In particular, we use Predicate/Transition (PrT) nets to model business processes and business rules, and then weave them into a coherent PrT net. The resulting woven nets are ready for analysing system properties and simulating system behaviour.Jian Yu, Quan Z. Sheng, Paolo Falcarin, and Maurizio Morisi
钙钛矿型氧化物混合离子-电子导体在固态氧化物燃料电池阴极材料领域的研究进展 = An overview of mixed ion-electron conducting (MIEC) perovskite oxides for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) cathode materials and relevant research in 2022
This article offers a brief introduction of mixed ion-electron conducting (MIEC) perovskite oxides for applications as the cathode material of solid oxide fuel cells, including basic working principle, material synthesis and processing approaches, and electrical and electrochemical characterisation techniques. An overview of the relevant research in 2022 is also presented, mainly focusing on (1) MIEC perovskite oxide surface engineering; (2) new MIEC perovskite oxides with improved stability and high catalytic activity towards oxygen reduction reaction; (3) synthesis and fabrication technique developments
The Benefits of Being Economics Professor A (and not Z)
Alphabetic name ordering on multi-authored academic papers, which is the convention in the economics discipline and various other disciplines, is to the advantage of people whose last name initials are placed early in the alphabet. As it turns out, Professor A, who has been a first author more often than Professor Z, will have published more articles and experienced afaster growth rate over the course of her career as a result of reputation and visibility. Moreover, authors know that name ordering matters and indeed take ordering seriously: Several characteristics of an author group composition determine the decision to deviate from the default alphabetic name order to a significant extent.performance measurement, incentives, economists, name ordering
