Enhanced Markov Chain Model and Throughput Analysis of the Slotted CSMA/CA for IEEE 802.15.4 Under Unsaturated Traffic Conditions
In this paper, we propose an analytical Markov chain model of the slotted carrier-sense multiple-access/collision-avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol for IEEE 802.15.4 under unsaturated traffic conditions. Our proposed Markov chain model reflects the characteristics of the IEEE 802.15.4 medium-access control (MAC) protocol, such as a superframe structure, acknowledgements, and retransmissions with and without limit. We evaluate the throughput performance of the slotted CSMA/CA and verify the analytical model using simulation results.Manuscript received July 24, 2007; revised January 17, 2008. Structural Engineering of Li-Based Electronic Synapse for High Reliability
In this study, a highly reliable Li based two-terminal electrochemical synapse device was developed to investigate the synaptic characteristics. Based on the identified fabrication conditions, a solid-state electrolyte was interposed between the anode and cathode to prevent the self-injection phenomenon. Consequently, improved reliabilities, such as endurance and retention, were achieved. These results demonstrate the significant potential of two-terminal synaptic device in the hardware implementation of neuromorphic computing systems.11Nsciescopu

Integrated CO2 capture-fixation chemistry via interfacial ionic liquid catalyst in laminar gas/liquid flow
Simultaneous capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) and its utilization with subsequent work-up would significantly enhance the competitiveness of CO2-based sustainable chemistry over petroleum-based chemistry. Here we report an interfacial catalytic reaction platform for an integrated autonomous process of simultaneously capturing/fixing CO2 in gas-liquid laminar flow with subsequently providing a work-up step. The continuous-flow microreactor has built-in silicon nanowires (SiNWs) with immobilized ionic liquid catalysts on tips of cone-shaped nanowire bundles. Because of the superamphiphobic SiNWs, a stable gas-liquid interface maintains between liquid flow of organoamines in upper part and gas flow of CO2 in bottom part of channel. The intimate and direct contact of the binary reagents leads to enhanced mass transfer and facilitating reactions. The autonomous integrated platform produces and isolates 2-oxazolidinones and quinazolines-2,4(1H,3H)-diones with 81-97% yields under mild conditions. The platform would enable direct CO2 utilization to produce high-valued specialty chemicals from flue gases without pre-separation and work-up steps. ? 2017 The Author(s).1115Ysciescopu

Iron Nanoparticle-induced activation of plasma membrane H+-ATPase Promotes Stomatal Opening in Arabidopsis thaliana
Engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) enable the control and exploration of intermolecular interactions inside microscopic systems, but the potential environmental impacts of their inevitable release remain largely unknown. Plants exposed to ENMs display effects, such as increase in biomass and chlorophyll, distinct from those induced by exposure to their bulk counterparts, but few studies have addressed the mechanisms underlying such physiological results. The current investigation found that exposure of Arabidopsis thaliana to nano zerovalent iron (nZVI) triggered high plasma membrane H+-ATPase activity. The increase in activity caused a decrease in apoplastic pH, an increase in leaf area, and also wider stomatal aperture. Analysis of gene expression indicated that the levels of the H+-ATPase isoform responsible for stomatal opening, AHA2, were 5-fold higher in plants exposed to nZVI than in unexposed control plants. This is the first study to show that nZVI enhances stomatal opening by inducing the activation of plasma membrane H+-ATPase, leading to the possibility of increased CO2 uptake.X112119Ysciescopu
The Effect of Intraoperative Nefopam Administration on Acute Postoperative Pain and Chronic Discomfort After Robotic or Endoscopic Assisted Thyroidectomy: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Acute postoperative pain and chronic discomfort are reported after robotic or endoscopic thyroidectomy. The purpose of this prospective, randomized, and double-blinded clinical trial was to investigate whether intraoperative infusion of nefopam decreases acute postoperative pain and chronic discomfort following either a robotic or endoscopic thyroidectomy via the bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA). Patients were randomized into two groups: The control group (n = 29) or the nefopam group (n = 29). Patients in each group were infused with the same volume of saline or nefopam (0.2 mg/kg bolus, 120 mu g/kg/h continuous infusion) during surgery. Acute postoperative pain, the need for rescue analgesics, and other postoperative adverse effects were assessed at 1, 6, 24, and 48 h postoperatively. Chronic pain and discomfort was recorded at 3 months after surgery. Patients in the nefopam group reported lower pain scores in the neck, as well as the axilla and anterior chest areas at 1, 6, 24, and 48 h postoperatively, when compared with the control group (P < 0.05 at each time points). Rescue analgesics were required less in the nefopam group than in the control group (1.4 [1] vs. 2.3 [1.5]; P = 0.001). The degree of chronic pain and discomfort were relatively lower in the nefopam group (P < 0.05). We report that intravenous nefopam infusion during surgery decreased acute postoperative pain and the need for rescue analgesics, as well as chronic discomfort, following BABA robotic or endoscopic thyroidectomy without adverse events.OAIID:RECH_ACHV_DSTSH_NO:T201830465RECH_ACHV_FG:RR00200001ADJUST_YN:EMP_ID:A078159CITE_RATE:2.766DEPT_NM:의학과EMAIL:[email protected]_YN:YN
