Wang Meng and contemporary Chinese literature: the vicissitudes of a committed writer
This thesis examines the way Wang Meng has developed as a writer from the 1950s to the 1990s in the context of New China's political and literary background. It looks at the compromises he was forced to make between his political beliefs in the Communist Party and his chosen role as a professional writer. After his disastrous early foray into what was deemed to be unacceptable political criticism with The Young Newcomer in the Organisation Department in the 1950s, when the opportunity came to start publishing again in the late 1970s he was boldly innovative in style, helping to transform New Period literature, but conservative in content, sticking to politically acceptable topics. It was only with Hard Porridge in 1989 that he ventured again, and very successfully, into political comment. There is no outstanding leading writer in contemporary China, but Wang Meng is a leading contender for the title
[[alternative]]An Analysis of Xia Jingguan's Study of Meng Jiao's Poems via Tong Guang Style Poetics
[[abstract]]Xia Jingguan, a poet of the later Tong Guang style, places particular emphasis on Meng Jiao in his study of Tang poetry. This article discusses Xia's views on Meng Jiao's reclusion at Mount Songshan and analyzes his re-evaluation of Meng's poems in terms of "exhaustiveness," "eccentricity," and "depth." It then goes into Xia's positioning of Meng Jiao's poems in the history of Middle Tang Poetry. Through a comparison with Xia's contemporaries such as Hua Chenzhi and Wen Yiduo, this article investigates Xia's perception of Meng Jiao's poems and the significance of his Meng Jiao study in the history of poetry in modern China.[[fileno]]JA01_2006_p27
A constrained topology optimization methodology based on budget constrained min-cut
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel methodology based on budget constrained Min-Cut theorem to solve constrained topology optimization (TO). Design/methodology/approach: This paper establishes a weighted network with budget, which is derived from the sensitivity with respect to the constraint function. The total budget carried by the topology evaluates the extent to which the constraint is satisfied. By finding the Min-Cut under budget constraint in each step, the proposed method is able to solve constrained TO problem. Findings: The results obtained from a magnetic actuator including a yoke, a coil and an armature have demonstrated that the proposed method is effective to solve constrained TO problem. Originality/value: A novel methodology based on budget constrained Min-Cut is proposed to solve constrained TO problem.</p

P-Time Algorithms for Typical #EO Problems
In this article, we study the computational complexity of counting weighted Eulerian orientations, denoted as #EO. This problem is considered a pivotal scenario in the complexity classification for Holant, a counting framework of great significance. Our results consist of three parts. First, we prove a complexity dichotomy theorem for #EO defined by a set of binary and quaternary signatures, which generalizes the previous dichotomy for the six-vertex model. Second, we prove a dichotomy for #EO defined by a set of so-called pure signatures, which possess the closure property under gadget construction. Finally, we present a polynomial-time algorithm for #EO defined by specific rebalancing signatures, which extends the algorithm for pure signatures to a broader range of problems, including #EO defined by non-pure signatures such as f_40. We also construct a signature f_56 that is not rebalancing, and whether #EO(f_56) is computable in polynomial time remains open
Effects of Xiao-Ban-Xia-Tang formula on cisplatin and 1-phenylbiguanide hydrochloride induced acute and delayed emesis and gut microbiota in the pica model of rats
Two rat models of cisplatin and 1-phenylbiguanide hydrochloride induced pica were established. The amount of kaolin intake was observed, and the effects of Xiao-Ban-Xia-Tang formula and ondansetron on the gut microbiota were studied by 16S rDNA gene analysis.<br
