中冶集团在俾路支省深耕19年: 跨文化管理挑战背景下发展社会绩效的案例研究
China Metallurgical Group Corporation(MCC) ran the Saindak Copper-Gold Mine for 19 years after it completed its contract for the mines’ construction in 1990. MCC later won the bidding for operating the mine, and started the first 10-year lease contract in 2002, which was renewed twice in 2012 and 2015 for two 5 year periods until 2022. In this case study we will investigate MCC’s successful social performance experience, and explore what the core factors are in helping to develop the local community. We hope to show how this company managed to work with local people, successfully enough to be rewarded with the contract renewals for operating the mine.在1990年完成矿山建设合同后,中国冶金科工集团有限公司(MCC)经营了山达克铜金矿19年。中冶集团后来中标运营该矿山,于2002年开始了第一个为期10年的租赁合同,并于2012年和2015年两次续约,每次续期5年,直到2022年。在本案例研究中,我们将调查中冶集团成功的社会绩效经验,并探讨帮助发展当地社区的核心因素。我们希望展示这家公司如何成功地与当地人合作,以及如何成功续签运营矿山的合同。

Percepcja przestrzeni miasta Tychy przez młodzież gimnazjalną – wybrane aspekty
The article discusses the issue of the perception by young people a specifically formed urban space, which is Tychy – a re-latively young city, built during the period of intense post-war industrialization of Poland to be “a bedroom” for the Upper Silesia Industry Area. Most of the population of New Tychy consisted of immigrants from other parts of Poland. Today, after more than sixty years, the population of the city mostly consist of people born and brought up here. The author is looking for an answer to the question whether and how place attachment have developed in this specific community. The diagnosis of city perception, in particular by young people, is a step to know the answer. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among the oldest junior high school students. According to the assumptions of humanistic geography, the subjective assessment of the city space by students was analyzed, both in qualitative and emotional aspects. The analysis of the obtained results gave an interesting image of the city per-ceived positively and liked, but significantly diversified. In the longer term, the results of research will form the basis for further ones on the field of place attachment in Tychy
The Rate of Interest or the Rate of Return: Estimating Intertemporal Elasticity of Substitution
This paper investigates whether the rate of interest such as the Treasury bill rate or the rate of return such as the return on a household portfolio is more relevant to the household’s intertemporal decision making. In a current era, households are diversifiers (to use Tobin’s 1958 term) and hold portfolios of assets rather than a simple loan. A portfolio of assets earns a composite return accounting for capital gains, taxes, and inflation, and rational agents make spending decisions based on expected total returns on a portfolio rather than on the return on a single asset. The total composite measure we use includes financial assets such as stocks and bonds and a real asset, residential housing. In particular, we estimate the intertemporal elasticity of substitution, namely, how a change in the asset or portfolio return affects household’s consumption growth. The estimates obtained using real after-tax composite return are about 0.15-0.3 and are more robust to linear and nonlinear estimations, different consumption measures, and various time periods than those obtained by using individual asset returns such as the Treasury bill rate.intertemporal elasticity of substitution, intertemporal choice, consumption, housing, portfolio return
女性能成为君子吗?: 新冠疫情危机中的妇女领导力
As Confucian teaching becomes more widely known in almost every corner of the world, accompanying the development of China’s economic and cultural influence through the Belt-and-Road (BRI) projects, the Junzi ideal is becoming more attractive as the preferred leadership style for new generations of businesspeople. However, the Junzi ideal tends to be stereotyped as a man acting within a supposedly male-dominant world. At the same time, Confucius has been criticized for his alleged sexism, assuming without much comment women’s subordination to men, as wives, mothers, and daughters, roles other than leaders. This case study starts with reports of women leaders’ early success responding to the Covid-19 crisis, compared to their male counterparts, which raise the question whether women’s leadership embodies the values enshrined in the Confucian ideal of the Junzi. Considering the evidence of both history and current experience, the case study is meant to explore the question whether the Junzi as conceived in Confucian teaching should be clarified, in order to demonstrate its openness to development for both women and men, and not just in China.
Key words: Covid-19 crisis and Chinese response, women in leadership, Junzi, challenging sexism in Confucian teaching.伴随着中国通过“一带一路”项目发展的经济和文化影响力,儒家思想在世界各个角落变得更加广为人知,作为新一代商业人士的首选领导风格,“君子”理想也变得更具吸引力。然而,“君子”型的理想往往被固化为一个男人在一个男性主导的世界中行事。同时,孔子因其所谓的性别歧视而受到批评,他假设妇女作为妻子、母亲和女儿等从属于男人的角色,而对于扮演领导者的角色却没有过多的评论。 本案例研究从女性领导人早期成功应对新冠疫情危机的报告开始,与她们的男性同行相比,提出了女性领导是否体现了儒家理想中的君子价值观的问题。考虑到历史和当前经验的证据,本案例研究旨在探讨儒家学说中设想的君子是否应该得到澄清,以证明其对男女发展的开放性,而不仅仅是在中国。
