Roger Abrahams, director of the African and Afro-American Research Institute at the University of Texas-Austin and author of Positively Black, argues the case for ethnic diversity in this interview. Roger Yonchien Tsien, 錢永健 2008 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2004 Wolf Laureate in Medicine
American Chinese biochemist Roger Yonchien Tsien has revolutionized the fields of cell biology and neurobiology by formulating ways which allow scientists to use novel fluorescent proteins to track the behavior of intracellular molecules in real time. For this scientific contribution, Roger was awarded the Wolf Prize in Medicine in 2004. Roger also shared the glory of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2008 with two other distinguished scientists: Osamu Shimomura (下村修) from Boston University and Martin Chalfie from Columbia University. These three scientists were selected to receive the award for their works on the green fluorescent protein (綠色螢光蛋白質)
