X-shaped radio galaxies as observational evidence for the interaction of supermassive binary black holes and accretion disc at parsec scale
In the hierarchical galaxy formation model, today's galaxies are the product of frequent galaxy merging, triggering the activity of active galactic nuclei and forming a supermassive black hole binary. A binary may become stalling at the parsec scale and is expected to be detected in nearby normal galaxies, which is inconsistent with observations. In this paper, we investigate the interaction of the supermassive binary black holes (SMBBHs) and an accretion disc and show that the stalling can be avoided due to the interaction and a rapid coalescence of SMMBHs can be reached. A binary formed during galaxy merging within Hubble time is most likely inclined with a random inclination angle and twists the accretion disc, aligning the inner part of the disc with the orbital plane on a time-scale similar to10(3) yr. The twisted inner disc subsequently realigns the rotating central supermassive black hole on a time-scale less than or similar to 10(5) yr due to the Bardeen-Petterson effect. It is shown that the detected X-shaped structure in some FR II radio galaxies may be due to the interaction-realignment of the binary and accretion disc occurring within the parsec scale of the galaxy centre. The configuration is very consistent with the observations of X-shaped radio sources. The X-shaped radio feature forms only in FR II radio sources due to the strong interaction between the binary and a standard disc, while the absence of X-shaped FR I radio galaxies is due to the fact that the interaction between the binary and the radiatively inefficient accretion flow in FR I radio sources is negligible. The detection rate, X 7 per cent, of the X-shaped structure in a sample of low-luminous FR II radio galaxies implies that the X-shaped feature forms in nearly all FR II radio sources of an average lifetime t(life) similar to10(8) yr. This is consistent with the estimates of the net lifetime of quasi-stellar objects and radio galaxies and with the picture that the activity of active galactic nuclei is triggered by galaxy merging. As the jet orients vertically to the accretion disc, which is supposed to be aligned with the galactic plane of the host galaxy, the old wings in the X-shaped radio sources are expected to be aligned with the minor axis of the host galaxy while the orientation of the active jet distributes randomly. It is suggested by the model that the binary would remain misaligned with the outer disc for most of the disc viscous time or the lifetime of the FR II radio galaxies and the orientation of the jet in most FR II radio galaxies distributes randomly. As the binary-disc interaction in FR I radio galaxies is negligible or a source evolves from FR II to FR I type after the binary becomes aligned with the outer disc, the jets in most FR I radio galaxies are expected to be vertical to the accretion disc and thus the major axis of the host galaxy. We discuss the relationship of X-shaped and double-double radio galaxies (DDRGs) and suggest that all X-shaped radio sources would evolve into DDRGs after the coalescence of the SMBBHs and that most radio sources evolve from FR II to FR I type after an interruption of jet formation, implying that the average size of FR I radio sources is smaller than that of FR II radio galaxies. The model is applied to two X-shaped radio sources 4C + 01.30 and 3C 293 and one DDRG source J0116-473 with a bar-like feature. We show that the SMBBHs in the three objects are minor with mass ratio q similar to 0.1- 0.3.Astronomy & AstrophysicsSCI(E)0REVIEW41357-136934

'She's a F**king ticket':the pragmatics of f**k in Irish English - an age and gender perspective
In this paper, I examine the pragmatics of FUCK in terms of age and gender inan Irish English context. The paper aims to explore sociolinguistic variationin the use of this taboo form by using quantitative and qualitative corpusbasedtools and methodologies, which include relative frequency lists andconcordances, as well as details of formulaic strings, including significantclusters. I show that FUCK is a high-frequency item in everyday talk. Iillustrate that, in terms of age and gender, FUCK occurs most frequentlyamong male speakers in their twenties. I also focus on fucking as anextremely emotionally charged form that is a high frequency item in theinteractions of both the males in their twenties and the males in theirforties. I note that the use of this form brings a certain dramatic intensityor dynamism to their discourse. I attribute this intensity to being a feature ofhow males interact. I conclude by discussing other variables at play in thedata
Basni: I.A. Krylova, With a Biography of the Author
The complete text of the fables is followed by a list after 298 of the fables arranged by the years in which they were written (1806-36) and then an alphabetical index. The volume is in fair to poor condition. The cover (cardboard boards) is worn and the spine damaged. There are about thirty-five good illustrations, signed by Panov and Braun or something very close to that, presumably the engraver. I do not have many illustrated editions of Krylov. Among the best of the illustrations here are The Monkey and the Spectacles (26), FK (37), Monkey (83), The Lion A-Hunting (133), The Knight (155), Lion and Wolf (158), Wolf and Shepherds (178), Ass and Rustic (190), Lambkin (210), and Squirrel (253). The set of texts seems to fit perfectly with Pares' standard edition. There is a Russian bookseller's label on the inside front cover. This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: Russian18th complete editionUnder the editorship of V. Kenevic
On the accuracy of partially averaged Navier–Stokes resolution estimates
Partially Averaged Navier–Stokes computations can employ three different approaches for specifying the ratio of modelled-to-total turbulence kinetic energy fk. Use can be made of either a constant, a spatially- or a spatially- and temporally-varying value. This work compares different estimates for fk found in literature and evaluates them for two test-cases: a circular cylinder at Re=3900 and a turbulent channel flow at Reτ=395. Additionally, the estimates are compared to the a posteriori computed ratio of modelled-to-total turbulence kinetic energy()hfk˜ obtained from the PANS flow solution. The trends observed for the estimates are similar, although the magnitude varies significantly. All spatially varying fk approaches reduce the PANS model to a DES-like model, thereby entangling modelling and discretisation errors. At the same time, fk˜ shows that the behaviour of these estimates is incorrect: fk becomes too large near the wall of the object and in the far field. It is observed that fk˜ is always lower than the set value, when using fk fixed in space and time. Finally, it is clear that the estimates, applied to internal, boundary layer, flows yield too high values for fk. In order to minimise errors and increase the reliability of industrial CFD results, the approach with a constant fk is still preferable, assuming suitably fine grids are used.Ship Hydromechanics and Structure

Abstract: Coarse woody debris (CWD) plays an important role in supporting biodiversity and
assisting ecological processes. Sometimes local people intervene modifying the expected distribution
of CWD components, harvested as fuel wood. The effect of the human accessibility (HA) on the
volume and characteristics of CWD (snag, downed log and stump) was investigated in the natural
uneven-age mixed hardwood stands of the Hyrcanian forests of Iran to quantify the impact on CWD.
The HA was classified into three classes (easy, medium and difficult) on the basis of slope class,
slope direction to the nearest road and road type. As expected, a negative relationship between
the degree of accessibility was found with respect to the main qualitative and quantitative indices
referring to CWD. The results showed that the volume of CWD decreased with an increase in
human accessibility class (HAC), thus the mean volume of CWD in the difficult, medium and easy
accessibility classes were 14.87 m3 ha1, 8.84 m3 ha1 and 4.03 m3 ha1, respectively. The decrease in
CWD volume was more associated with the decreasing volume of small diameter of low decayed
downed logs. The ratio of snag volume to standing volume, the ratio of downed log volume to the
volume of trees and the ratio of CWD volume to standing volume increased with a decrease in HAC,
while the ratio of downed log volume to snag volume decreased with a decrease in HAC. No selective
behaviour on the botanical species of CWD was recorded. For ecological forest management, the effect
of HAC on CWD should be considered. A constant supply of snags and downed logs must be
preserved to assure a high level of biodiversity. To balance social needs and biodiversity requirements,
an increased level of CWD retention might be needed in areas with easy accessibility. The obtained
results may be useful when ecological and socio-economical needs have to be taken into consideration
in future policy-making decisions.

The Development of a Partially Averaged Navier-Stokes KSKL Model
A new partially averaged Navier-Stokes (PANS) closure is derived based on the k-kL (KSKL) model. The aim of this new model is to incorporate the desirable features of the KSKL model, compared to the k-ω shear stress transport model, into the PANS framework. These features include reduced eddy-viscosity levels, a lower dependency on the cell height at the wall, well-defined boundary conditions, and improved iterative convergence. As well as the new model derivation, the paper demonstrates that these desirable features are indeed maintained, for a range of modeled-to-total turbulence kinetic energy ratios (fk), and even for multiphase flow.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Ship Hydromechanics and Structure
Non-vanishing of derivatives of L-functions associated to cusp forms of half-integral weight in the plus space
We show a non-vanishing result for the derivatives of L-functions associated to cuspidal Hecke eigenforms of half-integral weight in plus space. In particular, we show that for large weights, ∑j=1d1⟨fk,j,fk,j⟩dndsn[L∗(fk,j|W4,s)]does not vanish at any point s= σ+ it with t= t, k/ 2 - 1 / 4 < σ< k/ 2 + 3 / 4. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature
