The Role of Evidence in Establishing Trust in Repositories
This article arises from work by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) Working Group examining mechanisms to roll out audit and certification services for digital repositories in the United Kingdom. Our attempt to develop a program for applying audit and certification processes and tools took as its starting point the RLG-NARA Audit Checklist for Certifying Digital Repositories. Our intention was to appraise critically the checklist and conceive a means of applying its mechanics within a diverse range of repository environments. We were struck by the realization that while a great deal of effort has been invested in determining the characteristics of a 'trusted digital repository', far less effort has concentrated on the ways in which the presence of the attributes can be demonstrated and their qualities measured. With this in mind we sought to explore the role of evidence within the certification process, and to identify examples of the types of evidence (e.g., documentary, observational, and testimonial) that might be desirable during the course of a repository audit.
Ross & Wilson Pharmacology
Ross & Wilson texts are known for their clear, accessible explanations that provide comprehensive information without excessive detail - making them highly sought after by nurses, pharmacy students, students of allied health professions and paramedics. This new title applies the same approach to the discussion of drugs and their use in medicine. Readers will develop a sound scientific understanding about the mechanism of action of drugs and be able to relate this to their clinical uses, as well as appreciate their effects on the body’s physiological systems. Beautifully illustrated and written in a way that is easy to understand, Ross & Wilson Pharmacology is an ideal companion for practitioners, students and prescribers wanting a clear and practical understanding of the fast-changing field of clinical pharmacology
Simulation of Magnetic Component Models in Electric Circuits including Dynamic Thermal Effects
It is essential in the simulation of power electronics applications to model magnetic components accurately. In addition to modeling the nonlinear hysteresis behaviour, eddy currents and winding losses must be included to provide a realistic model. In practice the losses in magnetic components give rise to significant temperature increases which can lead to major changes in the component behaviour. In this paper a model of magnetic components is presented which integrates a nonlinear model of hysteresis, electro-magnetic windings and thermal behaviour in a single model for use in circuit simulation of power electronics systems. Measurements and simulations are presented which demonstrate the accuracy of the approach for the electrical, magnetic and thermal domains across a variety of operating conditions, including static thermal conditions and dynamic self heating

President Wilson at Neighborhood House - 500
Woodrow Wilson stands in the front of a convertible automobile stopped in the intersection of what was then N and Union Streets SW. Wilson, the driver of the car, and two woman in the back look east at something happening on N Street. A crowd gathered under a tree near the car and people in front of 485 N Street also look in the same direction. Two Secret Service agents look at the photographer. Written on the reverse is \Barney Neighborhood House, 470 N Street SW.\ Wilson had only been President of the US for two months when the photo was taken.Number in title was assigned by Willard Ros
