Interview with Bill Freeman
Bill Freeman is interviewed by a Smoky Mountain High School student as a part of Mountain People, Mountain Lives: A Student Led Oral History Project. Born in 1925, Freeman grew up in Waynesville and was recruited to the Navy when he was 17 years old. He talks about his time in the Navy during World War II. Freeman was self-employed except for a short time at Champion Paper Company. He talks about his trucking business, chicken operation, and building houses. He also discusses his affiliation with the Masonic Lodge
