    This undated portrait of Tyler and Vilanta's child, Hilda, sitting on a porch rail is part of a collection of images that chiefly depict the family of William Tyler Buchanan (1872-1937) and Vilanta Cumi Blanton (1882-1975), their home, and community of the Buchanan Loop area of Webster. William was born in Webster and Vilanta was born in Whittier. Most of the photographs were taken by William Julian McElhinney (1896-1953). Born in Washington, D.C., McElhinney married the Buchanan's fourth child, Ruby Louise Buchanan (1907-2003) in 1932
