I principi guideranno e standardizzeranno i progetti. Henan province has long lived in the core area of economy and culture in the Chinese history. It is a large province of architectural heritages, which are both abundant in quantity and rich in types. Heritages of different types and from different historical periods give the province a great potential but also a big challenge in the meantime. In recent years, Henan has made some achievements in heritage protection, such as the Yinxu Site and the Longmen Grottoes. Nevertheless, there are much more heritages in the rural area left behind. Adding insult to injury, in the fast urbanization process and the general recession of Chinese agriculture industry, many villages are “dying” gradually thus the heritages are endangered as well. To reestablish the social ecology in these rural villages, the Party Central came out with the new “Rural Complex” strategy. In the following few years, Henan has the possibility of launching pilot projects, in which heritage protection would be able to play an important role in terms of fund raising, profit creation, and cultural transmission. Through a new methodology of cultural heritage preservation, a new perspective that these “ancient stuff” are not bottomless pits consuming taxpayers’ money but actually useful and valuable would be revealed in front of the public, administration, and investment agencies. The author sums up the planning and designing principals and hope to provide an integrated solution. The full thesis is divided into seven chapters:Chapter one, the theme of the paper is introduced. The background of Henan history and heritages from the prehistoric period to Ming and Qing Dynasties are outlined. Chapter two, it presents the current preservation situation of Henan to provide fact basis. In addition, some good examples are listed and analyzed. Chapter three, it analyses the problems that Henan faces now. The obstacles of law, theory, and public awareness are the common to other provinces, too. The social disorder is a unique issue for the agricultural areas in this post-WTO era. The discussion of these problems points out the direction for the cultural heritage and urban development study. Chapter four, it summarizes the general principals of the protection process. The principles will guide and standardize the projects. Chapter five, the “rural complex” strategy is interpreted in detail. Heritages can find opportunities in favor of both the villages and themselves. Chapter six, according to the opportunities above, it designs the new roles of heritages in the urban or rural environment, and practical solution is conceived. The measures focus mainly on the short-term. The most important point is to finance the projects with private sources instead of only public finance. Chapter seven, it summarizes the six chapters above and gives a conclusion

Transcriptome profiling of gene expression in fall dormant and nondormant alfalfa

AbstractFall dormancy (FD) is an adaptive trait in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). It appeared in the regrowth process in late summer or early autumn after alfalfa was harvested. FD affects the biomass accumulation and winter survival in high latitude area. However, the molecular mechanism under FD is still not clear at present. Performing RNA-seq of fall dormant and nondormant alfalfa varieties at different time points, we obtained differentially expressed genes between different FD types or time points. These differentially expressed genes may relate to FD in alfalfa. Here, we provide detailed experimental methods and analysis pipeline in our study (Zhang S et al., De novo Characterization of Fall Dormant and Nondormant Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) Transcriptome and Identification of Candidate Genes Relate to Fall Dormancy, submitted for publication) for reproducible research. Data generated in our work provide a resource to help decipher the molecular mechanism of FD in alfalfa

The key to the success of educational reform in universities is the teachers, who are the critical factor in driving school reform, realizing mutual skill enhancement among colleagues, and promoting the growth and success of university students. This study aimed to develop a model to enhance teachers' leadership skills in Application-Oriented Universities in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, China. The main theories that comprise the conceptual framework of this study are teacher leadership and distributed leadership. This study used a mixed methods research and utilized both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Qualitative data were collected through a systematic literature review and analyzed to integrate the skills needed for teacher leadership and the factors influencing teacher leadership. A questionnaire was developed and distributed to 366 teachers in three Application-Oriented Universities in Taiyuan for quantitative data collection. The findings showed high levels of teacher leadership in the three targeted schools. At the same time, the factors that influence teacher leadership development were found to include collaboration, shared responsibility, empowerment, trust and communication, adaptive and responsive. The survey results also showed that the above five factors positively correlate with improving teachers' leadership skills. Based on these results, experts proposed and validated a model that provides three activities for Application-Oriented University teachers to enhance their teacher leadership skills

Exploring Spatial-Temporal Representation via Star Graph for mmWave Radar-based Human Activity Recognition

Human activity recognition (HAR) requires extracting accurate spatial-temporal features with human movements. A mmWave radar point cloud-based HAR system suffers from sparsity and variable-size problems due to the physical features of the mmWave signal. Existing works usually borrow the preprocessing algorithms for the vision-based systems with dense point clouds, which may not be optimal for mmWave radar systems. In this work, we proposed a graph representation with a discrete dynamic graph neural network (DDGNN) to explore the spatial-temporal representation of human movement-related features. Specifically, we designed a star graph to describe the high-dimensional relative relationship between a manually added static center point and the dynamic mmWave radar points in the same and consecutive frames. We then adopted DDGNN to learn the features residing in the star graph with variable sizes. Experimental results demonstrated that our approach outperformed other baseline methods using real-world HAR datasets. Our system achieved an overall classification accuracy of 94.27%, which gets the near-optimal performance with a vision based skeleton data accuracy of 97.25%. We also conducted an inference test on Raspberry Pi 4 to demonstrate its effectiveness on resource-constraint platforms. We provided a comprehensive ablation study for variable DDGNN structures to validate our model design. Our system also outperformed three recent radar specific methods without requiring resampling or frame aggregators
