Casting the Ubiquitous Net of Information Control
Alongside the rise of the Internet as a pivotal economic and cultural force in Chinese society, the Chinese government has implemented a two-tiered strategy in dealing with the great potential and underlying risks associated with the network era. This paper offers a critical, in-depth overview of China’s state-orchestrated Internet surveillance apparatus from the Great Firewall to the latest Green Dam project. The author examines the conceptual and historical evolution of the Golden Shield program and analyzes the legal framework through which official regulation is justified or rationalized. Next, the author examines the prevalent practice of industry self-regulation among both Chinese and foreign companies engaged in online business in China. The paper ends with a discussion of the aborted official effort of extending content control to individual computers with the Green Dam Youth Escort project.</p
An integrated strategy of UPLC-Q-TOF-MS analysis, network pharmacology, and molecular docking to explore the chemical constituents and mechanism of Zixue Powder against febrile seizures
Febrile seizures (FS) are the most common type of seizures for children. As a commonly used representative cold formula for resuscitation, Zixue Powder (ZP) has shown great efficacy for the treatment of FS in clinic, while its active ingredients and underlying mechanism remain largely unclear. This study aimed to preliminarily elucidate the material basis of ZP and the potential mechanism for the treatment of FS through ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS), network pharmacology, and molecular docking. UPLC-Q-TOF-MS was firstly applied to characterize the ingredients in ZP, followed by network pharmacology to explore the potential bioactive ingredients and pathways of ZP against FS. Furthermore, molecular docking technique was employed to verify the binding affinity between the screened active ingredients and targets. As a result, 75 ingredients were identified, containing flavonoids, chromogenic ketones, triterpenes and their saponins, organic acids, etc. Through the current study, we focused on 13 potential active ingredients and 14 key potential anti-FS targets of ZP, such as IL6, STAT3, TNF, and MMP9. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis showed that inflammatory response, EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance, AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications, and neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction were the main anti-FS signaling pathways. Licochalcones A and B, 26-deoxycimicifugoside, and hederagenin were screened as the main potential active ingredients by molecular docking. In conclusion, this study provides an effective in-depth investigation of the chemical composition, potential bioactive components, and possible anti-FS mechanism of ZP, which lays the foundation for pharmacodynamic studies and clinical applications of ZP
A Study on the Evolution of Forest Landscape Patterns in the Fuxin Region of China Combining SC-UNet and Spatial Pattern Perspectives
During the vegetation growing season, the forest in the remote sensing image is more distinguishable from other background features, and the forest features are obvious and can show prominent forest area characteristics. However, deep convolutional neural network-based methods tend to overlearn the forest features in the forest extraction task, which leads to the extraction speed still having a large amount of room for improvement. In this paper, a convolutional neural network-based model is proposed based on the incorporation of spatial and channel reconstruction convolution in the U-Net model for forest extraction from remote sensing images. The network obtained an extraction accuracy of 81.781% in intersection over union (IoU), 91.317% in precision, 92.177% in recall, and 91.745% in F1-score, with a maximum improvement of 0.442% in precision when compared with the classical U-Net network. In addition, the speed of the model’s forest extraction has been improved by about 6.14 times. On this basis, we constructed a forest land dataset with high-intraclass diversity and fine-grained scale by selecting some Sentinel-2 images in Northeast China. The spatial and temporal evolutionary changes of the forest cover in the Fuxin region of Liaoning province, China, from 2019 to 2023, were obtained using this region as the study area. In addition, we obtained the change of the forest landscape pattern evolution in the Fuxin region from 2019 to 2023 based on the morphological spatial pattern analysis (MSPA) method. The results show that the core area of the forest landscape in the Fuxin region has shown an increasing change, and the non-core area has been decreasing. The SC-UNet method proposed in this paper can realize the high-precision and rapid extraction of forest in a wide area, and at the same time, it can provide a basis for evaluating the effectiveness of ecosystem restoration projects
Effectiveness of music therapy and Tai Chi exercise on anxiety, depression and quality of life for patients with cancer: a protocol for systematic reviews and meta-analysis
Introduction Patients with cancer frequently suffer from psychological distress, including anxiety and depression, which negatively impacts their quality of life. Music therapy (MT)and Tai Chi exercise are emerging as promising complementary interventions in cancer care. However, their comparative effectiveness remains uncertain. This systematic review aims to evaluate and compare the effects of MT and Tai Chi exercise on anxiety, depression and quality of life among patients with cancer. Methods and analysis Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) guidelines, a comprehensive search will be conducted in databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus and CNKI for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) published up to March 2025. Studies assessing the effects of either intervention on cancer patients will be included. The primary outcomes are anxiety and depression, while quality of life is considered a secondary outcome. All outcomes will be measured using validated instruments. Two reviewers will independently screen, extract data and assess study quality using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. Meta-analyses will be performed using RevMan where appropriate, along with analyses of heterogeneity, publication bias and sensitivity. Ethics and dissemination Ethical approval is not required as the study involves secondary data analysis. Results will be disseminated through peer-reviewed journals and conferences. This review will offer evidence-based insights to guide cancer rehabilitation strategies involving mind-body and music-based therapies

The protective effects of active ingredients from acrorus tatarinowii on sperm and their molecular mechanisms
Abstract Purpose To investigate the therapeutic potential of Acrorus tatarinowii in oligoasthenozoospermia and its related mechanism through modulation of the BCL2/Bax/Caspase3 signaling pathway. Methods Initially, using the TCMSP and Disgenet databases, active ingredients of Acrorus tatarinowii were identified and their target genes associated with sperm-related diseases were elucidated.Subsequently, an oligoasthenozoospermia mouse model was induced and treated with Acrorus tatarinowii. Serum hormone levels were assessed by ELISA, testicular histopathology by HE staining, and target gene expression by qPCR and Western blotting. Results Acrorus tatarinowii treatment significantly upregulated BCL2 expression in the testes of oligoasthenozoospermic rat. This was accompanied by improved histopathological features in testicular tissues, reduced LH and FSH levels in serum. Conclusion Acrorus tatarinowii exerts therapeutic effects in oligoasthenozoospermia by regulating the BCL2/Bax/Caspase3 pathway, maybe by inhibiting apoptosis, and promoting germ cell proliferation. These findings highlight its potential as a natural remedy for male infertility associated with sperm function disorders
