A Chronological Biography of Wang Li-hsin
宋代重文輕武,愛養士大夫,士大夫也多能自愛自重,咸以名節相高,廉恥相尚;繼思有以建功立業,報?朝廷。尤其當國家危難的時候,更能表現愛國的熱忱。治史貴在明真相,定曲直。孔子修《春秋》,實為明是非、別善惡、賢賢賤不肖,代表了史家的是非心和正義感。清代史家章學誠於史才、史學與史識三長之外,特增史德,合為史家四長;並謂史德為史家的心術,其言甚當。往昔歷代政府,為激發臣民愛國情操,培養社會善良風俗,於忠臣孝子特加表彰。而在今日,研究忠烈之士的生平事蹟,為國民立楷模,仍是很切要的。筆者為宋季忠烈汪立信(1201~1275)編此年譜,又不僅志在發千載之覆而已!立信字成父,一字成甫,號紫原,安豐軍六安縣人。出身名進士,雖中第較晚,然以天性忠義,志切報國。中第後曾出任各方面,均能竭智盡忠。晚年遭逢國破家亡之難,使壯志未酬,能不得展,最後悲壯的死在宋朝未失守的土地上,忠烈豪情,感人至深。本年譜除敘述汪立信的生平事跡外,兼要探究理宗以後的政局,在奸臣的弄權下,及強敵的壓境下,國脈民命早已危在旦夕。然而在廟堂之上,苟安心態十分嚴重,朝政由少數人所把持,而忠憤耿耿志切保國衛民之士,卻一直處於下僚,朝代末期病象,至此完全呈露,則宋室之亡,也只是遲早的問題。本年譜採用綱目體,一方面為便於引錄史料,一方面較易?述譜主與同時人的關係,庶能由人才的進退,以見時代之盛衰。對國家大事亦加?述,但力求簡明,總以有助於了解當日因人事、政局的變動,而導致國家的喪亂為原則
Wang Kuo-Wei’s Contribution and Influence to the Sung Studies
王國維(1877-1927)字靜安,號觀堂,浙江海寧人。生而通敏,好學出於天性,為我國近代三百年史學史上不可多得的奇才。一生治學方面最廣,貢獻亦最大,影響最深遠,宋代研究只是其中之一端而己!王氏早年著《人間詞話》,推崇五代及北宋之詞境界最高,足稱一代之文學,而後世莫能繼。後研究宋元戲曲,則又舉宋代雜劇託故事以諷時事,具有勸戒的功能,撰成《宋元戲曲史》。在古器物古文字的研究中,探究出宋代學者在金石學方面的成就,譽為「一代之學」。治經史必讀古籍,古籍之校勘要靠板本,在各種板本中,以宋板書最珍貴,王氏曾為烏程蔣氏撰藏書志,又常與江浙藏書家往還,所見之宋元刊本古籍至多,所撰《五代兩宋監本考》及《兩浙古刊本考》,皆為板本學方面之重要著作,平生手校手批古籍一百九十二種,內有一書用四種板本詳校者。至於對遼金史研究及蒙古史料校注,為其晚年心力之所專注。王氏的宋代研究方面頗廣,都具開創性,今日治通俗文學,文學批評,以及金石、目錄、板本之學,皆師承王氏。至於治西北史地,雖承襲道咸以後學風,然專注史料之考據興校注,供後學研究。至民國五十年代,姚從吾校注耶律楚材《西遊錄》及張德輝《嶺北紀行》,即是深受王氏影響。今日國際漢學界所最重視之宋研究,也是由於王氏最推崇宋代學術有多方面的成就而引起的

EMBO Journal. 1982;1(7):841-845.Electric impulses (8 kV/cm, 5 microseconds) were found to increase greatly the uptake of DNA into cells. When linear or circular plasmid DNA containing the herpes simplex thymidine kinase (TK) gene is added to a suspension of mouse L cells deficient in the TK gene and the cells are then exposed to electric fields, stable transformants are formed that survive in the HAT selection medium. At 20 degrees C after the application of three successive electric impulses followed by 10 min to allow DNA entry there result 95 (+/- 3) transformants per 10(6) cells and per 1.2 micrograms DNA. Compared with biochemical techniques, the electric field method of gene transfer is very simple, easily applicable, and very efficient. Because the mechanism of DNA transport through cell membranes is not known, a simple physical model for the enhanced DNA penetration into cells in high electric fields is proposed. According to this ' electroporation model' the interaction of the external electric field with the lipid dipoles of a pore configuration induces and stabilizes the permeation sites and thus enhances cross membrane transport
