Arna bicostata Wang, Wang & Fan, sp. nov.
Arna bicostata Wang, Wang & Fan sp. nov. (Figs. 3–4, 28, 42) Diagnosis. Forewing length 10–14 mm. Forewing yellow, with two pale transverse lines medially; hindwing pale yellow. Description. Male and female. Vertex covered with pale yellow scales. Labial palpus short, upturned. Thorax and tegulae yellow. Forewing yellow, with a deep yellow band between two pale transverse lines medially, the band shaded grey in some specimens; venation with R 2, R 3, R 4 and R 5 stalked, R 2 branching off more distally than R 5, M 1 arising from upper angle of distal cell, M 3 from under angle of distal cell, M 2, M 3 and CuA 1 isolated, CuA 1 parallel to CuA 2. Hindwing paler yellow; venation with Rs stalked with M 1 at basal 1 / 4, M 2 arising from near under angle of distal cell, M 3 and CuA 1 short stalked. Male genitalia (Fig. 28): Uncus broad, apically divided in the dorso-ventral plane, triangular at apex of dorsal part; valva narrowed from apex of sacculus to costa; saccus small; aedeagus straight. Female genitalia (Fig. 42): Apophysis anterioris almost as long as apophysis posterioris, but thicker than the latter; ostium U-shaped; base of ductus inflated, lightly sclerotized; signum absent. Type material: Holotype: 3, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Guangdong, 7.V. 2009, leg. H.S. Wang. Paratypes: 4 3, 2 Ƥ, same data as the holotype; 2 3, same locality, 1.VI. 2006, leg. L.S. Chen, M. Wang. Distribution. China (Guangdong). Etymology. The specific name is derived from Latin, “bicostatus,” referring to the forewing with two pale lines medially. Remarks. The genus Arna Walker was reviewed by Holloway (1999) who reported 12 species. A Chinese species Euproctis pentamaculata described by Chao (1984) should also belong to this genus according to the male genitalia illustrated in his Fig. 230, along with A. pseudoconspersa (Strand) and the new species. As a result, 15 species of the genus are now recorded. The new species is similar to Arna bipunctapex, but can be easily separated from the latter by the following characters: forewing yellow with two pale transverse median lines; hindwing pale yellow; uncus less acute at apex of dorsal part, valva with shorter protrusion at apex of costa; female with a smaller ostium.Published as part of Wang, Houshuai, Wang, Min & Fan, Xiaoling, 2011, Notes on the tribe Nygmiini (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Lymantriinae) from Nanling National Nature Reserve, with description of a new species, pp. 57-68 in Zootaxa 2887 on page 58, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20082

In S. threadis sp. nov., the penis guide is nearly as long as parameres in lateral view. Description. TL: 2.63–2.86mm, TW: 2.26–2.37mm, TH: 1.37–1.59mm, TL/TW: 1.16–1.21, PL/PW: 0.28– 0.30, EL/EW: 0.94–0.99, HW/PW: 0.56–0.58, PW/TW: 0.63–0.64, HW/TW: 0.35–0.37, Eye W/HW: 0.43–0.46. Head reddish brown. Elytra reddish brown with a long ovate black spot situated at 1/3 elytral length to base. Underside yellowish brown, except metaventrite and the middle part of the first abdominal ventrite reddish brown. Body rounded, weakly convex, shiny and glabrous. Eyes finely faceted, interocular distance 0.45 times width of head. Frons broad with irregular transparent spots, punctures uniform and dense (Fig. 3c). Pronotum 0.64 times of elytral width (PW/TW=1:1.6), moderately transverse, punctures uniform and dense (Fig. 3c). Elytra with uniform and dense punctures (Figs 3a–c). Ventrite 6 subhemisphenical and ventrite 7 nearly straight (Fig. 3g). Male genitalia: penis relatively short and slender, apex pointed, penis capsule with nearly same length of inner arm and outer arm. Tegmen with penis guide in lateral view slender, widest at base, narrowing to apex, distinctly shorter than parameres. Type material. Holotype: ♂, Philippines, Butuan Mindanao, Baker (USNM). Paratypes: 2 ♀♀, same data as holotype (USNM). Distribution. Philippines (Mindanao). Etymology. The specific epithet is formed from the Latin noun ovalis, referring to elytra with a long ovate black spot.Published as part of Liu, Liyuan, Wang, Yan, Guo, Qiuhong, Chen, Xiaosheng & Wang, Xingmin, 2022, Three new species of the genus Sulcolotis Miyatake (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae Sticholotidini) from the Philippines, pp. 75-82 in Zootaxa 5168 (1) on pages 78-79, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5168.1.6, http://zenodo.org/record/687646
Euochin lingyi Wang & Zhang 2023, sp. nov.
Euochin lingyi sp. nov. (Ē仪ƙẅss) Figs 3, 71–88 Type material. Holotype: ♁ (MHBU-ARA-00025217), CHINA: Yunnan Province, Kunming City, Xishan Forest Park (WƜAIJȑȁ), 24.952489°– 24.951981°N, 102.637807°– 102.639223°E, 2200–2300 m a.s.l., 28 May 2022, leg. W. Wang. Paratypes: 1♁ 1♀ (MHBU-ARA-00025218), same data as holotype. Etymology. The specific epithet derives from the ancient literary name of Mt. Xishan, the type locality of the new species. Noun in apposition. Diagnosis. Males resemble Euochin mii Wang & Li, 2022 in the palp, but can be distinguished by the highly developed flange of embolus, which is undeveloped in E. mii (Figs 80–82, 85; see Wang & Li 2022: fig. 5). The female epigyne resembles that of E. nanjiabawa sp. nov. and E. tianhe sp. nov., but the three species can be distinguished by: (1) the shapes of the epigynal windows (wider than long in E. nanjiabawa sp. nov. and E. tianhe sp. nov., while longer than wide in E. lingyi sp. nov.); (2) the distances between the copulatory openings (close to each other in E. lingyi sp. nov. and E. tianhe sp. nov., while far away in E. nanjiabawa sp. nov.); (3) the trajectories of the copulatory ducts (running antero-laterally from the spermatheca in E. nanjiabawa sp. nov. and E. tianhe sp. nov., while running posteriorly in E. lingyi sp. nov.); (4) the sizes of the fertilization ducts (much larger in E. nanjiabawa sp. nov. and E. tianhe sp. nov., while smaller in E. lingyi sp. nov.) (cf. Figs 83–84, 87–88, 115–116, 119–120, 164–165, 168–169). Description. Male. Habitus see Figs 71–72, 75, 77. Carapace length 2.016; abdomen length 1.847.
