Wang Shuo and the commercialisation of contemporary Chinese culture
This thesis examines the commercialisation of Chinese culture that has taken place over the past twenty years in mainland China. It explores the contribution of Wang Shuo, a cultural figure who straddles different fields of culture, moving from literature to the ultimate mass culture medium of television, this study plots Wang Shuo' s development from educational failure, to business failure, to fiction writer, film & TV editor, film director and cultural critic and analyst. His stories, films, TV series and articles have caused shock-waves throughout national cultural circles as he has transformed the terms of the debate from academic discourse to a validation of the role of the market in the culture field. Although Wang Shuo has not been labelled as a dissident, his approach to the culture market has had a more subversive effect on official ideology that those overt dissidents who have had to live in exile or have been imprisoned. He has utilised the language of official ideology to satirise the authorities, turning the ideology and its supporters into figures of fun. Yet his own goals have been strictly personal and economic ones. The authorities recognize the value of Wang Shuo's work in the cultural market but at the same time distrust his works and place him under strict censorship. Examining the way Wang Shuo and people surround him have succeeded in different fields of cultural achievement is a mirror to understanding the process of the transformation of contemporary Chinese culture from a socialist state-controlled culture to a market-oriented mass culture industry

Wuhan pulsed high magnetic field center
Wuhan pulsed high magnetic field facility is under development. Magnets of bore sizes from 12 to 34 mm with the peak field in the range of 50 to 80 T have been designed. The pulsed power supplies consists of a 12 MJ, 25 kV capacitor bank and a 100 MVA/100 MJ flywheel pulse generator. A prototype 1 MJ, 25 kV capacitor bank is under construction. Five magnets wound with CuNb wire and copper wire reinforced internally with Zylon fiber composites and externally with stainless steel shells have been developed to be tested to verify the design. The design and analysis of the power supplies, the pulsed magnets and the inductors for the protection of the thyristor switches are presented in this paper.sponsorship: Liang Li; Tao Peng; Hongfa Ding; Xiaotao Han; Zhengcai Xia; Tonghai Ding; Jin Chen; Junfeng Wang; Jianfeng Xie; Shaoliang Wang; Xianzhong Duan; Cheng Wang; Yuan Pan; Pulsed High Magn. Adult female wingspan 10.0‒12.0 mm. Female genitalia (Fig. 9). Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Lamella postvaginalis fusiform, with sparse setae. Ostium bursae longitudinally sub-rectangular, with fine wrinkles. Antrum with posterior 1/4 bowl shaped, anterior 3/4 narrower, uniform. Ductus bursae membranous, posterior 3/5 enlarged ovately, with three denticles, anterior 2/5 narrow and twisted; ductus seminalis from ductus bursae posteriorly. Corpus bursae ovate, membranous, shorter than ductus bursae; signum absent. Distribution. Malaysia. Notes. In this study, we found that in male genitalia the aedeagus bears four apical spines, and the longer spine is about twice as long as other three shorter spines. The female is described here for the first time.Published as part of Liu, Chen & Wang, Shuxia, 2020, Genus Promalactis Meyrick, 1908 (Lepidoptera: Oecophoridae) from Malaysia with description of three new species in Zootaxa 4755 (1), DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4755.1.2, http://zenodo.org/record/372425

This species can be distinguished from its congeners in the male genitalia by the sub-triangular juxta with neither posterior lobes nor a flap, the aedeagus with two needle-like cornuti (Fig. 8), in the female genitalia by the weakly sclerotized antrum longer than wide, and the ductus bursae shorter than the corpus bursae (Fig. 12). Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan, Zhejiang). Remarks. Lepidozonates viciniolus is synonymized with Philharmonia adusta Park, 2000. Lepidozonates viciniolus is identical to P. adusta in appearance, venation, as well as in the male and female genitalia, and closely distributed geographically. The presence of the plumose scales on the pleural membrane are not mentioned in the original description, but other characters are well in consistent with those of P. adusta.Published as part of Yu, Shuai & Wang, Shuxia, 2021, Genus Lepidozonates Park (Lepidoptera, Lecithoceridae) from China, with description of a new species, pp. 591-597 in Zootaxa 4903 (4) on pages 592-593, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4903.4.7, http://zenodo.org/record/443149
