No full textAnaplectoidea spinea sp. nov. Fig. 3, A–I Yellowish brown, unicolor. Head and pronotal disk without spots and stripes. Interocular space slightly less than the distance between the antennal sockets. The third segment of palps slightly longer than the fourth, both distinctly longer than the fifth swollen segment. Pronotum suboval, the anterior and posterior margin straight, two sides convex, the widest behind the middle. Tegmina and wings fully developed and slightly extending beyond the end of abdomen. Hind wing with radial vein straight, not branched; median vein simple, slightly curved at proximal part; cubitus vein with 4–7 branches (holotype with 4 branches, of which 3 pseudocomplete and 1 incomplete branches, paratypes with 6 or 7 branches); appendicular field about 25–28 % the length of the wing. The front femur Type A 3, tarsal claws symmetrical, with denticles on ventral margins. The seventh segment of abdomen specialized with two small fossae medially as Fig. 3 E. Supraanal plate symmetrical, linguiform, paraprocts dissimilar, distal portion of the right variable, with some spines. Subgenital plate asymmetrical, two styles spinelike slightly curved, apical acute; hooklike on the left with an apical incision; median phallomere formed with two parts, the distal part slender, acute; right phallomere without brushlike instruction. Specimens examined Holotype: male, China: Yunnan province, Xishuangbanna, 1200–1400m, 18 May 1958, coll. Zhang YiRan. Paratypes: 1 male, China: Yunnan province, Zhengkang County, 980m, 21 April 1980, coll. Zhang Ming; 1 male, China: Yunnan, Coll. No full textAnaplectoidea cylindrica sp. nov. Fig. 2, A–H Description Pronotum length×width, 2 × 3 mm; tegmen, 10.5 mm; overall length (incl. tegmen), 12.5 mm. Yellowish brown. Head and pronotal disk without spots and stripes. Interocular space slightly less than the distance between the antennal sockets. Maxillary palps with segments 3 and 4 approximately equal in length, each distinctly longer than the fifth segment, which is swollen. Pronotum suboval, the anterior and posterior margin straight, two sides convex, the widest behind the middle. Tegmina and wings fully developed extending beyond the end of abdomen. Hind wings with radial vein branched at distal portion, median vein simple, slightly curved at proximal part, cubitus vein with two pseudocomplete and three incomplete branches, apical triangle large. The front femur Type A 3, tarsal claws symmetrical, with denticles on ventral margins. The seventh segment of abdomen specialized, with setae arising in a pair of little fossae. Supraanal plate symmetrical, trigonal with hind margin convexly rounded; paraprocts dissimilar from each other. Subgenital plate slightly asymmetrical, two styles cylindrical, the left distinctly longer than the right one. Interstylar margin slightly convex; hooklike phallomere on the left with an apical incision; median phallomere as Fig. 2 G; right phallomere with brushlike instruction. Comments According to body, venation of hind wing and the seventh segment of abdomen, this species is included in Anaplectoidea. But it can be easily distinguished from others by styles distinctly different in length, and very particular phallomeres. Wang Shuo and the commercialisation of contemporary Chinese culture
Get PDFThis thesis examines the commercialisation of Chinese culture that has taken place over the past twenty years in mainland China. It explores the contribution of Wang Shuo, a cultural figure who straddles different fields of culture, moving from literature to the ultimate mass culture medium of television, this study plots Wang Shuo' s development from educational failure, to business failure, to fiction writer, film & TV editor, film director and cultural critic and analyst. His stories, films, TV series and articles have caused shock-waves throughout national cultural circles as he has transformed the terms of the debate from academic discourse to a validation of the role of the market in the culture field. Although Wang Shuo has not been labelled as a dissident, his approach to the culture market has had a more subversive effect on official ideology that those overt dissidents who have had to live in exile or have been imprisoned. He has utilised the language of official ideology to satirise the authorities, turning the ideology and its supporters into figures of fun. Yet his own goals have been strictly personal and economic ones. The authorities recognize the value of Wang Shuo's work in the cultural market but at the same time distrust his works and place him under strict censorship. Examining the way Wang Shuo and people surround him have succeeded in different fields of cultural achievement is a mirror to understanding the process of the transformation of contemporary Chinese culture from a socialist state-controlled culture to a market-oriented mass culture industry
