Letter from P.J. Walsh to Hagan
Holograph letter from P.J. Walsh, Holy Cross College, Clonliffe, Dublin, to Hagan, enclosing holograph letter from (Abbot) M. O’Phelan, Mount Melleray Abbey, Cappoquin, County Waterford, to Walsh. Recommending one of their students, Michael Healy, for admission to the College; praising his academic brilliance and family background. He is anxious to be adopted by the Dublin archdiocese. – Walsh would accept him although he has no degree; he told the abbot he may recommend him for the Sydney burse at the Irish College: asking his opinion. Brief news about Morrissey and about Peter Monahan; the latter’s return from Rome added glamour to St. Audoen’s. With renewed warm thanks for his reception in Rome. Adding regards to his cousin and Hagan’s uncle. [8 April - 1 May 1925
