Etude des Collemboles de Madagascar. VI - Madecassiella, un genre nouveau de Symphypléones de l'étage montagnard
A sixth genus of Parabourletiellinae belonging to the group of genera with relatively short antennae and with all dental setae long, but showing only one row of setae on thorax III and a lateraly reduced chaetotaxy on abdomen I, is described from the montain range in Madagascar in the South-Ibity massif ; it occupies a new ecological niche, the soil surface under Philippia thickets, compared with Anjavidiella (on the Philippia vegetation) and Vatomadiella (on small rocks in the mountain meadow).Un sixième genre de Parabourletiellinae, appartenant au groupe de genres à antennes assez courtes et à phanères dentaux tous allongés, mais présentant une seule rangée de soies sur le segment thoracique III et une chétotaxie réduite latéralement sur le segment abdominal I, est décrit de l'étage montagnard dans le massif de l'Ibity-Sud à Madagascar ; il occupe une nouvelle niche écologique, la surface du sol supportant les fourrés à Philippia, par rapport aux deux genres affines, Anjavidiella (sur la végétation à Philippia) et Vatomadiella (sur les petits rochers en prairie altimontaine).Betsch Jean-Marie, Waller Alain.
