System Impacts of User Scheduling with Minimal Angular Separation Constraints in Radio Resource Management for 5G and Beyond
The system effects and trade-offs of varying the minimal angular separation among multiple simultaneous co-frequency users are investigated for a high-capacity multibeam communication scenario. Through the statistical system simulations, it is demonstrated that the optimal (non-zero) value of the required separation depends on the base station array size, number of users, precoding technique, desired probability of coverage and intended quality of service.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Microwave Sensing, Signals & System

Resistivity and Hall effect in the ab-plane of high TcHgBa2CaCu2O6+y epitaxial films
By using of high quality HgBa2CaCu2O6+y (Hg-1212) epitaxial films the resistivity and the normal state Hull effect in ab-plane have been studied, These properties indicate that Hg deficient Hg-1212 is an under-doped superconductor. In post annealing experiments we found that Hg carl diffuse our from and into the films at 350 degreesC depending on the Hg vapor pressure. The Hg deficient films show degraded superconductivity. Through annealing them in Hg atmosphere we recovered completely their superconductivity. Using these Hg-1212 films with different cation vacancy contents the relationship between T-C and the Hall coefficient was studied. 1/R-H uas found to have T- linear behavior above a crossover temperature T* and a weakened T-dependence below T*. This interesting behavior may be attributed to a pseudo-gap.Physics, AppliedSCI(E)EICPCI-S(ISTP)

A photovoltaic window with sun-tracking shading elements towards maximum power generation and non-glare daylighting
Vertical space bears great potential of solar energy especially for congested urban areas, where photovoltaic (PV) windows in high-rise buildings can contribute to both power generation and daylight harvest. Previous studies on sun-tracking PV windows strayed into the trade-off between tracking performance and mutual shading, failing to achieve the maximum energy generation. Here we first build integrated models which couple the performance of sun-tracking PV windows to the rotation angles. Secondly, one-degree-of-freedom (DOF) and two-DOF sun tracking are mathematically proven to be not able to gain either maximum power generation or non-glare daylighting under reasonable assumptions. Then we derive the optimum rotation angles of the variable-pivot-three-degree-of-freedom (VP-3-DOF) sun-tracking elements and demonstrate that the optimum VP-3-DOF sun tracking can achieve the aforementioned goals. When the restriction of the proposed model is relaxed, the same performance can be achieved by the optimum one-DOF sun tracking with extended PV slats and particular design of cell layout, requiring less complicated mechanical structures. Simulation results of nine global cities show that the annual energy generation and average module efficiency are improved respectively by 27.40% and 19.17% via the optimum VP-3-DOF sun tracking over the conventional perpendicular sun tracking. The proposed optimum sun-tracking methods also reveal better protection against sun glare. The optimum VP-3-DOF sun tracking is also demonstrated to be applicable to horizontal PV windows, as those applied in the sun roof of a glass greenhouse.Photovoltaic Materials and DevicesElectrical Sustainable EnergyElectronic Components, Technology and Material
Neutrophil interactions with the vascular endothelium
Neutrophils are a key mediator of the innate immune system and are pivotal in the inflammatory response to infection or tissue damage. Fundamental to the role that neutrophils play in host defence is their interaction with the vascular endothelium. From the initial mobilisation of neutrophils out of the bone marrow to their ultimate transmigration through the vasculature, endothelial cells are a vital component of the inflammatory process. This review focuses on the interactions that take place between neutrophils and the vascular endothelium during the various stages of the inflammatory response. The role of the vascular endotheliumin detecting the initial episode of infection or tissue damage is explored and how this ultimately leads to mobilisation of the neutrophils from the bone marrow and into the bloodstream. The recruitment and adhesion of neutrophils to the vascular endothelium is also discussed, with particular emphasis on the various discrete stages of the adhesion cascade and what molecules mediate these steps. In addition, a novel role for the lipid kinase sphingosine kinase in neutrophil adhesion is examined. With the advent of improved imaging techniques and the development of new animal models, this is a dynamic area of research and this review aims to summarise some of the more recent findings.David Dimasi, Wai Y. Overview of the 8th Author Profiling Task at PAN 2020: Profiling Fake News Spreaders on Twitter
[EN] This overview presents the Author Profiling shared task at
PAN 2020. The focus of this year's task is on determining whether or not
the author of a Twitter feed is keen to spread fake news. Two have been
the main aims: (i) to show the feasibility of automatically identifying
potential fake news spreaders in Twitter; and (ii) to show the difficulty
of identifying them when they do not limit themselves to just retweet
domain-specific news. For this purpose a corpus with Twitter data has
been provided, covering the English and Spanish languages. Altogether,
the approaches of 66 participants have been evaluated.First of all we thank the participants: 66 this year, record in terms of participants at PAN Lab since 2009! We have to thank also Martin Potthast, Matti
Wiegmann, and Nikolay Kolyada to help with the 66 Virtual Machines in the
TIRA platform. We thank Symanto for sponsoring the ex aequo award for the two best performing systems at the author profiling shared task of this year. The
work of Paolo Rosso was partially funded by the Spanish MICINN under the

Strain Energy Release Rates of Modified ENF Specimen for Mixed Mode Fracture
A modified ENF specimen for the mixed-mode fracture test is analyzed by the finite element method. The analysis is performed to calculate the mode I and mode II strain energy release rates and to compare the results with those obtained by the simple beam theory. The virtual crack closure method and displacement extrapolation method are employed in the finite element analysis to calculate the strain energy release rates. As for the relation between G1<> G1<> and the thickness ratio for the modified ENF specimen, the finite element result shows some discrepancy with the result by the simple beam theory. The results of present analysis show that the mode partitioning by the simple beam theory does not hold good for the specimen with different thicknesses of upper and lower arms.(Author abstract
Superconducting HgBa2CaCu2Oy thin films growth on NdGaO3, SrTiO3, LaAlO3 and Y-ZrO2 substrates
Superconducting HgBa2CaCu2Oy (Hg-1212) films have been fabricated on (110) NdGaO3, (100) SrTiO3, (100) LaAlO3 and (100) Y-ZrO2 substrates by a two-step process. Good reproducible superconducting properties, zero resistance temperatures (T-c) > 115 K and critical current density (J(c)) > 4000 MA/m(2) at 77 K in zero field, are obtained. X-ray diffraction patterns indicate that the films have an epitaxial structure with the c-axis perpendicular to the surface. Scanning electron microscopy measurements show a layered growth structure with square and octagonal grains on the Hg-1212 film surfaces. (110) NdGaO3 is demonstrated to be a good substrate for growing the Hg-cuprate thin films. A lower superconducting transition temperature is observed in films deposited on Y-ZrO2 substrates, which can be attributed to variations of the microstructure in the films.
