    Genus Punctacorona Wang, Du, Yao & Ren gen. nov. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: F9969495-7B8E-4551-9177-6DE01E17DFCC Type species. Punctacorona triplosticha sp. nov. Diagnosis. Clypeus longer than paraclypei, with 4 peg-like setae marginally, paraclypei with 6 peg-like setae marginally, all marginal setigerous punctures arising from its own well-developed tubercle; ocelli present (Fig. 2A, B). Pronotum trapezoidal, almost parallel-sided, anterior angles expanded, coxal combs scale-like. Scutellum triangular, about 2 times longer than claval commissure. Clavus with 3 rows of coarse punctures (Fig. 3); claval commissure present; evaporatorium on metapleuron extensive, covering most of segment, very large, with mycoid micro sculpture (Fig. 4 D, I), metapleuron neighboring to posterior margin of evaporatorium carinate (Fig. 2B; Fig. 4D); R+M separated from C+Sc at 1/5 of corium, anterior margin of forewing angulated. Etymology. The generic name is a combination of the Latin Punct - (“Little dot”) and corona (referring its clypeus longer than paraclypei, with peg-like setae), gender feminine. Distribution.     Wang Shuo and the commercialisation of contemporary Chinese culture

    This thesis examines the commercialisation of Chinese culture that has taken place over the past twenty years in mainland China. It explores the contribution of Wang Shuo, a cultural figure who straddles different fields of culture, moving from literature to the ultimate mass culture medium of television, this study plots Wang Shuo' s development from educational failure, to business failure, to fiction writer, film & TV editor, film director and cultural critic and analyst. His stories, films, TV series and articles have caused shock-waves throughout national cultural circles as he has transformed the terms of the debate from academic discourse to a validation of the role of the market in the culture field. Although Wang Shuo has not been labelled as a dissident, his approach to the culture market has had a more subversive effect on official ideology that those overt dissidents who have had to live in exile or have been imprisoned. He has utilised the language of official ideology to satirise the authorities, turning the ideology and its supporters into figures of fun. Yet his own goals have been strictly personal and economic ones. The authorities recognize the value of Wang Shuo's work in the cultural market but at the same time distrust his works and place him under strict censorship. Examining the way Wang Shuo and people surround him have succeeded in different fields of cultural achievement is a mirror to understanding the process of the transformation of contemporary Chinese culture from a socialist state-controlled culture to a market-oriented mass culture industry

    Akanthomyces zaquensis Y.H. Wang, W.J. Wang, Ke Wang, C.H. Dong, J.R. Hao, P.M. Kirk & Y.J. Yao, sp. nov. (Figs. 2–4) Fungal Names registration: FN570746. Etymology:— zaquensis, referring to the collecting site near the Za Qu River. Colonies on PDA were rapidly growing, attaining a diameter of 25–28 mm and 30–34 mm within 10 days at 20 and 25 ºC, respectively, round, flat, white. Reverse primrose to pale yellow. Colonies on MEA and PCA attained a diameter of 23–28 mm and 28–31 mm within 10 days at 20 and 25ºC, respectively, round, flat, white. Reverse pale yellow (FIGURE 2). The vegetative hyphae on PDA medium were delicate, hyaline, smooth-walled, 0.4–2.0 μm wide. Phialides occurring directly on the aerial hyphae; simple, 8.0–40.0 µm long, rarely over 100 µm, 0.6–1.2 µm at the base, tapering to about 0.4 µm at the tips. The conidia produced on the three media were one-celled, smooth-walled, hyaline; (1.5–)3.0–6.0(–7.0) × 0.5–1.2(–1.5) µm; adhering in heads at the apex of the phialides, long-ellipsoidal to almost cylindrical (FIGURE 3). The optimum temperature for growth was 5–37 ºC on three media (17–34 mm diameter in 10 d at 15–30 ºC), little growth (usually less than 10 mm diameter) at ≤10 ºC, no growth at ≥ 33 ºC (FIGURE 4). Notes: Akanthomyces zaquensis was isolated from O. sinensis. The species differed from A. lecanii by having bigger conidia. Furthermore, A. zaquensis produced single and lanceolate or narrowly lageniform phialides directly from the aerial hypha. Sexual state:—Unknown. Holotype:— CHINA. The adult male can be separated from other members of the genus by having the virga consisted of 16–18 spines. Remarks. C. virga was described by Wang (1998) based on adult males form Oriental China.     Wang Meng and contemporary Chinese literature: the vicissitudes of a committed writer

    This thesis examines the way Wang Meng has developed as a writer from the 1950s to the 1990s in the context of New China's political and literary background. It looks at the compromises he was forced to make between his political beliefs in the Communist Party and his chosen role as a professional writer. After his disastrous early foray into what was deemed to be unacceptable political criticism with The Young Newcomer in the Organisation Department in the 1950s, when the opportunity came to start publishing again in the late 1970s he was boldly innovative in style, helping to transform New Period literature, but conservative in content, sticking to politically acceptable topics. It was only with Hard Porridge in 1989 that he ventured again, and very successfully, into political comment. There is no outstanding leading writer in contemporary China, but Wang Meng is a leading contender for the title

    Acothrura orientalis (Liang, 2000) comb. nov. Lacusa orientalis Liang, 2000: 289. Note The species Lacusa orientalis was described by Liang in 2000. Xing & Chen (2014) reviewed all the species of the genus Lacusa. According to their observations, this species should be removed from the genus Lacusa and placed in the genera Sarebasa Distant, 1909 or Acothrura Melichar, 1915 (Xing & Chen 2014). After comparing habitus and phallic complexes of L. orientalis (Liang 2000: figs 17, 23–27) and Acothrura fucizona Wang, Chou & Yuan, 2000 (Figs 91–101), the very similar brown markings on vertex and thorax, shape of anal tube, pygofer with dorsal margin straight, posterior margin curved and gonostylus with apical margin concave at middle lead us to place L. orientalis in the genus Acothrura Melichar, 1915.
