CUDA au Coq: A Framework for Machine-validating GPU Assembly Programs

    No full text
Due to copyright restrictions and/or publisher's policy full text access from Treasures at UT Dallas is limited to current UTD affiliates (use the provided Link to Article).A prototype framework for formal, machine-checked validation of GPU pseudo-assembly code algorithms using the Coq proof assistant is presented and discussed. The framework is the first to afford GPU programmers a reliable means of formally machine-validating high-assurance GPU computations without trusting any specific source-to-assembly compilation toolchain. A formal operational semantics for the PTX pseudo-assembly language is expressed as inductive, dependent Coq types, facilitating development of proofs and proof tactics that refer directly to the compiled PTX object code. Challenges modeling PTX's complex and highly parallelized computation model in Coq, with sufficient clarity and generality to tractably prove useful properties of realistic GPU programs, are discussed. Examples demonstrate how the prototype can already be used to validate some realistic programs. © 2019 EDAA.ONR award N00014-17-1-2995, NSF award #1513704, an NSF IUCRC award from Lockheed MartinErik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Scienc

The Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov Superconductivity in Disordered Systems

    Get PDF
The Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov phase, with a spatially oscillating order parameter, may be induced by strongly magnetic field at low temperature. It is believed that the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov phase can exist only in homogeneous superconductors, and even weak impurity potential can lead to its destruction. The analysis of the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov phase in the Bogoliubov–de Gennes equation shows however, that this phase can exist in the presence of weak disorder. Using Bogoliubov–de Gennes equations, we discussed the influence of diagonal and off-diagonal disorder on the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov phase

How green building requirements impact the commercial general contractor in Stockton, California

    Get PDF
This project explored how green building construction impacted a commercial construction company in Stockton, California. Through an examination of green building construction as well as general commercial construction in the Stockton area, the author was able to consider the impact of green building construction upon a sample building company. The analysis also considered a detailed look into 5 target markets in the area selected. Using the context of 1 company, Ferrell Construction (a pseudonym), the project also includes a discussion of green building trends locally and globally

A study of the social group work services for Negroes in the community centers and social settlements in the United States, 1942

    No full text
There is little material available from a national point of view which will give an adequate idea of the services offered to the Negroes by the Community Centers and Social Settlements. The writer has attempted to secure such information and compile it into this report. The work being done by the Young Ken's Christian Association and the Young Women's Christian Association has been widely publicized. The work being done by other agencies has not been so widely publicized and there is a feeling that there must be considerable work being done for Negroes by other group work agencies
