Elisha W. Davis
Elisha W. Davis came to the Uintah Basin as a government employer to Ouray. He went into the mercantile business in Moffat where the Strip was. He moved to Vernal and went into the furniture business. He was mayor from 1900-1901. He was born August 19, 1863. He married Lydia Black in 1889. He died October 19, 1909
